    Raya will be the only one protected. If they protect Olivar they must really believe he can be a true catcher going forward (I’m not in that camp based on the limited innings behind the plate the Organization has been willing to play him) Kal’ia Rosario might be a guy who gets drafted but would be hard pressed to stay on a major league roster for an entire season with his lack of defensive chops, high K rate and limited experience in the high minors. (Played ok in the AFL but nothing special). Will Holland might be an interested 40 man stash. Heard great things about his defense, speed and if the bat is a late development you might have something!

    I don’t think Castro is a bad trade candidate but I wouldn’t trade him to just dump salary. Of you can get a helpful piece to help I’m 25 or a good future piece sure. Castro brings a lot of value in versitility, the Twins dont utilize his best position much and his best asset in the SB. He was clearly hurt the second half of the yr and grinder it out. I think teams could view him as a starting 2B with options to move around the diamond as needed. 1 yr 6.5 million isn’t a bad # even for the twins.

    Varland should be handed a MLB reliever spot and let him work up or down the bullpen pecking order. Canterino moved the bullpen if he looks good in spring can earn a spot. No need to waste bullets in AAA, he is just like Brock Stewart. Prielipp should go to AA and start. Can keep him on an inning limit. After mid season if he is healthy and effective you can think about moving him to the bullpen to the the major league club.

    I don’t get how he is #10? Still far away from the majors, not gaudy #s, difficult projecting body type, poor athleticism at a corner OF spot. How doesn’t Rosario profile better? Atleast has BP power and a big arm and has atleast played at AAA and in the AZ fall league. I’m not even a Rosario believer. Looks like we got sold on a pretty worthless package for Polanco

    I like the high upside LHP. Rosario is very interesting, the Ks and lack of serviceable defense is scary. But a big arm and power from the right side can be useful. Hope he is in Saint Paul quickly would like to be able to get a better look before passing to much judgement.

    Patrick Winkel and Chris Williams. Both can’t pass defensively in the majors. Williams has a much better bat at AAA especially in 2023.

    If the Twins view him as a legit catcher he needed to be added. If they view him as a hitter who can catch no need to add him they have 2 of those at AAA.

    Yes he is a solid veteran option. If he is reasonably priced and is much better than anyone we currently have in our roster. Im guessing he is going to get more $ than the Twins are willing to spend.

    I think Durán and Alcala get traded. (Saves still get you paid in Arb) Lot of the fridge guys get let go off the 40 man (Winder Henriquez, blewettmaybe Topa) They are going to do the same thing they did the last few yrs and throw **** at the wall and see what sticks. You are hoping Varland transfer to the BP like Jax, Stewart stays healthy and one or two of the bullpen projects are a success.

    At this point who cares if they limp into the payoffs as the 3rd wild card and get boat racked in two wild card games! They have to figure some thing out here and personally I think they have used up all there bullets. You didn’t go get arms at the deadline and injuries and cold bats sunk the season.

    Boy I hope not! Let him get sometime at AAA, with all the time he missed maybe even play in the AFL. Can he play if he is on the 40 man roster already? I don’t know. This roster is going to have to sink or swim here the last few weeks and bringing up another rookie isn’t going to help. I like E rods upside and would be a nice Kepler replace sometime next season.

    I’ve been a Michael Helman fan! I think he can fill the Margot/Farmer role for this yr and into next year. If Twins are in deed cutting more salary a league minimum guy who fills both roles saves you 10 million and opens a bench spot. By all accounts he is a passible major league SS and CFer. Which should make him atleast a solid 2B and LF as well.

    I was thinking the same thing but can 40 man players go the AFL? Get healthy and get a last month of ball in at the very least.

    I know Jorge Polanco has been terrible this season and we have Topa for another season but sure hope Gonzalez can turn a corner next season otherwise that was just a terrible trade for the twins. I wonder where Brandon Winokur lands in offseason prospect rankings. He might be a big helium prospect guy in 2025. 6’6 and plays up the middle position with speed and power.

    Would Tigers trade Spencer Torkelson straight up for Kiriloff? 2 struggling 1B who have kid of worn out there welcome in there current organization.

    Going to have to see if he has enough versatility to effectively play the corner OF. Being a poor fielding 1B with a bat im not sure translates to the MLB i think he likely get DFAed this offseason. Maybe he has a big last month and changes that.

    I think you’ll see Varland continue to start for 2 more weeks. If mid August you either have Paddack back or SWR and Festa are still rolling he will transition to the bullpen ( for good hopefully) and be ready to join the bullpen for September when rosters expand.

    Cory Lewis piggy backing at AA behind Raya really makes me nervous. I know Lewis was hurt for most of the first half but has he fallen that far out of the organizations view or was this just a way to get two guys in knowing they want them to only throw 4 innings. I was hoping Lewis was goin to progress this yr and the knuckles would make a MLB return.

    I hope other teams believe Marco Raya is as valuable as you!!! He is the guy I would build any deal around would be amazing if Raya and Gonzolez could get you a controllable starter.

    He should spend the rest of the yr starting at AAA. He is the only guy in the system with top of the rotation stuff. For service time purposes he should be kept at AAA for the season and to start next yr. If he puts up similar #s he has a spot in May ‘25 If you wanna bullpen arm starters you have Varland and Festa. We already know Varland can do it and Festa looked good both starts the first time though the line up.

    I like Tyler Rogers if Giants fall apart, I also like the idea of Ashcroft if the Twins see a tweak or two they can make to get more results a mix of both Ryan and Ober. we will see where we are at in a month and where some of these teams are at.

    Very nice to see Sabato putting it together. He isn’t dead in the water yet! Would like to see the Twins move Severino (much younger and much more sustained MILB success, much more value). Then can give Sabato the call to AAA and see if it all continues.

    Mackenzie Gore would be a great target and get. I would be ok giving up Lee for a starter with yrs of control left like Gore.

    I think the only one that makes sense is Michael Kopech if the Twins see something they can tweak. Robert’s is great when healthy but Sox aren’t trading him to us. Crochet has been awesome for 2 1/2 months but my goodness what you would have to pay to get him, I’m not sure that’s an option. Is Sheets any better then Wallner or Larnach? I’m not exactly sure. Kopech you might be able to get for a reasonable price and if you could tweak secondary stuff to go with 100 mph fastball he could be dominate with Jax and Duran.
