  1. WAR, like most analytics, is a made up number that is what it is because someone says it is.
  2. Braves are a superior team because their lineup is scattered with players with heart. Players who produce above and beyond what the "analytics" say they should produce. We don't have that .
  3. How would one go about distinguishing a black hole from the rest of this lineup?
  4. HEART and SOUL. Thank God. Been saying the same thing since the day they cut him loose. No analytic for it. They've never replaced what he does that can't be measured. Joe Ryan was a great return but trading Nelson Cruz a hundred games after dumping Eddie only magnified what we lost when we lost Rosario. You think your comment is gonna get jumped on wait until you hear me mention that this team has not been the same offensively since Miguel Sano left the lineup either. Easily verifiable. Three guys who could carry the team on their shoulders ala Kirby of old. Guys in the current lineup who seemingly can do that? Nobody. You laid out Eddie's numbers above. OUR LFs have the worst OPS in the big league. But maybe I fret too much. Gallo's almost near the Mendoza line. AND he's missed enough games that he's not likely to break the team strikeout record.
  5. Difference is that Eddie hits some of what he swings at....
  6. And yet the fact that both are in St. Paul would seem to suggest that somebody feels differently.
  7. Seems highly unlikely we will be able to change what has already happened. Seems highly possible that we can achieve different results going forward. The history of the game is literally littered with such.
  8. Meanwhile, Eddie Rosario..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
  9. He's a streaky hitter and most likely will hit a hot streak again. This team would be 3-5 games under .500 without him.
  10. The prospects we need to be concerned with are Kiriloff & Larnach. Short, early answer is no. Hope that changes. HOPE is not a strategy.
  11. Plenty of value from Buxton just hitting. If he was playing CF his value would be a LOT more than we're paying him.
  12. Another change in the game that's not for the better.
  13. You named the problem without knowing it. 13 man roster. Why the hell does a ball team need more than 7 relief pitchers?
  14. Actually those look a lot like Brent Rooker's numbers.
  15. Actually his path to the Twins is very clear. Get / stay healthy and don't suck.
  16. To be fair, Larnach has also shown the other end of what young players can do and Lewis and Kiriloff could be tripping over a sunflower seed from their next injury.
  17. Arraez never flirted with .400 as a Twin so can you miss something you never had?
  18. Further Fun fact: Twins LFs have the worst OPS of any team in the big leagues.
  19. Huh. Talent is there. Stats are there. Something is missing. It's almost like something not measured by stats and analytics is missing. HEART. This team has none and hasn't had any since Eddie Rosario and Nelson Cruz left. You can call this a ******** argument all you want but the fact that the discussion exists validates it.
