  1. Maybe this iOS too obvious a topic. BUT -Somebody has to start this - it pops up in other threads - it needs its own!!! The Twins should go with a four man rotation in the playoffs. The first three are easy: Lopez then Gray then Ryan. Then the tough choice would be Keuchel with Maeda in the pen. Ober and Varland are question marks as to whether they make the playoff roster (and almost certainly in the bullpen if they do). Who actually goes where should depend on the matchups, injuries and how the particular pitchers have performed over the last 2-3 weeks of the season. If an opposing team has trouble with left handers, Keuchel should certainly start as #4 (if performing adequately) over Maeda - and at this point Keuchel seems to deserve the start regardless of those analytics.
  2. Dallas Keuchel induces ground balls. Is there anyone better.to be a reliever when the Twins need a double play (one out with one, two, or three on base)? Just sayin’.
  3. Luis Arraez’s current batting average is .356 That is the best in baseball. His OPS, however, is a very good (but not in top ten) .855. He does not hit for power (6 home runs) and has below average defense. The Twins have an abundance of middle infielders and left-handed hitters. The Twins made a good trade when they landed Pablo Lopez.
  4. In the off-season, a logjam at 2nd Base will become even more apparent. Polanco, Julien, Martin, Lee …. At least one should be traded to bolster the minor league pitching pipeline. The Twins have an abundance of left-handed hitters. The lefty Julien has a valuable bat (despite the recent drop in production). He is the one I would most likely trade in the off-season.
  5. Fortunately, many “fans” were able to beat the traffic before that true WALK-off win. Didn’t see that much traffic on the way home anyways. I’m back there tomorrow and again on Wednesday. Twins on overkill for me this week!!!
  6. The top bullpen guys still have to be Duran and Jax. One of the starters will bolster the pen in the playoffs. Don’t get too worked up yet.
  7. I miss the game threads because DVR and start watching late (in order to skip the commercials). THIS YEAR: Correa deserves a spot in the line up because of his glove not because of his bat. Move him down and boost the players who are hitting better and walking more. Pretty simple.
  8. Of course, Correa blasts a HR just after I posted this. Maybe I can turn him into another Kepler or Pagan.
  9. Why? Why? Why? Lewis, Jeffers, Wallner …. Enough of the season has passed. It’s time to move Carlos DOWN!!!
  10. I’m married to a Hoosier. I don’t have answers. But leaving early guarantees that you will miss the most exciting games. It would be great if you could stay overnight and then catch our great State Adair the next day before taking that shorter ride to Union Station in St Paul. I do understand you have to catch a train.
  11. Back in the day, AWA All-Star Wrestling was sponsored in part by Polka Records. The Twins should bring back this tradition. Reunite Whoopie John.
  12. If the words to the Hornet row of fame song apeear on the Jumbotron, everyone must sing loudly and proudly. You will be a wiener winner!!!
  13. How about promoting something a little more edgy? Sex World is near Target Field. Or one of the iconic bars: CC Club, First Avenue, Gay 90s, The Dakota. Or alternate each of the Jucey Lucy places - half of the jerseys with Matt’s Bar, the other with the 5-8 Club.
  14. Great place to catch a game. But bring back the original Mr. Shucks mascot (like Mr Peanut, only an ear of corn). On the way down, Minnesotans should try an Iowa Favorite - The Tenderloin Sandwich (it’s pork tenderloin but true afficianados never say “pork”). It’s also big in Indiana (The Bierstube in Hastings has a Weinerschnitzel sandwich which is really the same thing ). The Susie Q Restaurant in Mason City (pretty much on the way) has a different variety called the Spic and Span (more beer battered instead of cracker crumb). It was once named #2 Tenderloin Sandwich in the nation. The restaurant is in a classic 10 stool Valentine Diner (about 1/4 the size of Mickey’s Diner). The owner has been known to do magic tricks. The Iowa pork producers have also set up a Tenderloin Trail at their website. Susie Q is not on the map, but other restaurants featuring top tenderloins on the way to Cedar Rapids (with a slight detour) are right there on the map. Joensy’s Restaurant in Cedar Rapids claims to have a famous Jumbo Tenderloin Sandwich. Then after partaking in Iowa’s finest cuisine, enjoy the game. Walker Jenkins should be there in high A-Ball next season.
  15. Many years ago, I went to see a Kernals game in Cedar Rapids. The purpose was to see the number one prospect Byron Buxton. Jose Berrios started the game. However, the star of the game was Jorge Polanco. I am biased as a longtime fan of this player and lean towards keeping him one more year. Next year’s salary seems reasonable for a super-sub utility infielder. Hopefully, Polo is willing to accept a reduced role as talented younger players are promoted.
  16. What? No love here for Randy Travis William Dobnak? Not saying I support it BUT …
  17. Keep using Julien sparingly at 2B and more a DH (along with Buxton if or when he returns from Il). With Lee approaching MLB readiness and Buxton with a no-trade clause, the Twins must seriously look at trading Julien in the off-season to a team wowed by his offensive numbers.
  18. You left out - if Max Kepler keeps up his current offensive output. Add that to your string of “ifs” and ——
  19. Jarrett Whorff was promoted. That means the Twins are one step closer to having a Klingon on the roster. Instead of Harry Potter and Star Wars Promotions - Star Trek will prevail. Make it so.
  20. The Twins also have Solano as an option at 1B (along with Julien or Polanco). Joey’s gotta go.
  21. In 2023, he’s batting .213 with 6 home runs. He has decent defense. But he’s a lesser version of Mike Tony Taylor (getting a cooler name as his recent production improves - If MAT KEEPS THIS UP, somebody with more imagination.than me has to come up with a better nickname).
  22. Twins stranded a multitude of runners again. But the dumbest thing on this night was the whole Harry Potter promotion. Why????
  23. Joe Mauer gets inducted into Twins HOF Saturday night. But I get to go to Harry Potter Night Friday. Hope the Twins bats are magic wands. Still - Why Harry???
  24. I heard that MLB rules wouldn’t allow for this acquisition, but the Twins found a “Luplow” in the rules. That stupid pun will probably be the best thing from this acquisition.
  25. I like it. Ryan has not been effective for 2 months at least. Keuchel is a lefty in this rotation, great fielder, and looks like he has put a few more gallons of gas in the tank. Nice story.
