  2. Actually, I thought his playing style was entertaining. And like him as an announcer too. Then again, I’m also a pro wrestling fan, AEW more than WWE
  3. When AJ was a player, I hated him. Now that he’s a broadcaster, I hate him a little less. (Channeling Ozzie here).
  4. You are correct on the over-managing by Toronto. Taking Berrios out was particularly DUMB.
  5. OK - I’m ecstatic about this series. But not everything went right. Hitting and defense at 3B are two issues. Both would be helped by a return of Royce Lewis to 3B with Polanco going to 2B (improving the defense at both positions. the hitting then should improve with Julien or possibly Buxton moving to DH.
  6. I understand that Six foot, Seven Foot Eight Foot Bunch and the Tallyman …. I know the song. I was in a group in high school 50 years ago that sang it. But I ask again - what are we cheering for when we shout “Dayo”? AND is our “Dayo” a different BASEBALL meaning than the “Dayo” at a Cincinnati Reds game, for example? I understand clapping, shouting “charge”, even the Mexican Hat Dance but what is the actual meaning of “Dayo” when it is shouted at a baseball game. I think it really means NOTHING. i think it’s just brainless. No more DAYO -
  7. Can somebody finally explain what the fans are cheering for when they respond to the “Dayo” cheer? Back when Samuel Deduno pitched for this squad, I would respond to “Dayo” with “Deduno”!
  8. If it was just about the starters, that would make sense. However, the Twins want to win today to get an extra day of rest in order to be at their best for the Astros. This is best for Royce’s hammy, Carlos’s foot, and maybe even Buxton’s knee (nah he’d be sitting out game 3 anyways!)
  9. I would flip-flop Taylor and Castro. Mike Tony Taylor has provided 21 homers in addition to his stellar defense. The again - maybe I’m biased after his stellar defensive performance last night in the first WC game (I know - it doesn’t count gif this).
  10. First they ruined this year’s State Fair with more pickles. Now the Twins ruin the playoffs with Pickles and (worse yet) kraut, and that pseudo-Mayo - aioli. Yuk. I need a playoff punch with a punch that’s Jose Ramirez on Tim Anderson style.
  11. Absent an injury, is there a place for Dallas Keuchel or Kody Funderburk??.
  12. I understand the frustration. But this is good news. Hopefully, Buxton can be a contributor in the field in the playoffs. Now, DH him and work on his defense in practice.
  13. This is a trick question, because the Twins could rest CC for the rest of “The season” in order to have him in the.best possible condition for the post-season. This could apply as well to Buxton and Lewis.
  14. How about My Pillow, just for the fun of seeing some here get apoplectic!!!!
  15. You say it’s “Do or Die” for Larnach next year. Looks like he’s already “Doing”.
  16. DH and off-days if the trainer thinks that will help limit the foot pain. Seems obvious to me (which means I’m probably wrong).
  17. We have seen the Twins drop playoff game after playoff game. The number one priority should be to have the best possible roster of players on the first day. A rested Carlos Correa is better than one with achy feet. That is the obvious one. The season is winding down with the team up 7 over Cleveland. A first round bye is not very realistic. Start NOW getting this roster ready to play at the highest possible level.
  18. Griffen Jax looks like someone who could benefit from a lower workload prior to the playoffs!!!!
  19. As the team starts to get ready for the playoffs, there are some players in need of rest (or limited playing time). Number One on the list should be Carlos Correa. His feet have been aching all season and hopefully the condition can improve with less playing. Maybe some of you have others you think would benefit from d as one R & R!
  20. He looks like a future (sooner than later) clubhouse leader - Kirby Puckett, Derek Jeter, Dustin Pedroia …
  21. Playing Farmer now gives Correa a chance (hopefully) to rest his aching foot before the playoffs. Donnie Barrels is top pinch hitting bat off of the bench on a healthy Twins playoff team.
  22. For the waning number of fans complaining about the “Cheap Pohlads”, the Miami Marlins perspective is that the Twins spend much more on payroll. Therefore, the Twins were able to resign Pablo Lopez (where Miami would not).
  23. Just about every team has one or two players like this - a professional losing prospect who has become and enigma. They also have scouts and there could be one scout (or more) who thinks Larnach can slay his off-speed demons (a a bad smy other issues) with just a few adjustments. In the off-season, the Twins need to find another team’s enigma, who we think can benefit from a few adjustments Via trade, give Larnach and that other player the proverbial “change of scenery.”
  24. Since I started this - Yes, I being presumptuous when I go beyond Lopez, Gray and Ryan in the first series. If - and I say IF, the Twins get to the ALDSand beyond, I don’t think they should go beyond a four man rotation. At this point, I would give the nod to a Keuchel followed by Maeda. Hopefully, Bailey Ober can return to good form, but it should be obvious before putting him into a starting role again (ahead of Keuchel and Maeda).
  25. You left out Nick Gordon, who must have an outside chance. Looks like he is getting close to being able to contribute.
