    Yes, I too sometimes wonder what free agents think about going to Minnesota? They have a long history of dumping people, they did quite well with free agents back in the late 80's and early 90's, (Jack Morris, Don Baylor, Chili Davis, etc....) but I can't think of any real good ones as of late, except the big singings of Nolasco, Hughes, and Santana

    I would probably be in the stand Pat group, it seems to me that for the Twins to get better they need a starting pitcher, a la Gray. Their everyday lineup is young and talented, so I don't see where they would waist thier time trading for a position players. The big issue with getting that solid starter is after the Quintana deal, do they have enough to actually get a guy like that?? If not then get a small piece for the bull pen and go with what you have.

    I mean they keep starting Gibson? Albeit he's had a few decent ones lately, but Colon probably won't do any worse that what Gibby has done most of the year. I mean if Colon strings together 2 or 3 decent starts and his Era will be around 6 also?

    I personlly think Rosario could be better than a 4th OFer, he has made strides, but boneheadedness probably doesn't need a measurement, because if a player continues to do boneheaded things then they end up looking for another job. I mean Ryan Leaf spent a few years and kept doing boneheaded things and eventually they gave up on him. I also believe Rosario is hitting better than Gomez did when Gomez was here.

    I think Eddie has done a good job at the plate, considering what we thought he would do, he has been clutch at times and not so clutch at other times, but offensively he's done well for a 7th or 8th spot in the lineup. But....... I imagine that the coaches have probably talked to him about hitting the cut off more than once??? I mean I see a bloop single last night, the Yankees baserunner is going for 3rd and maybe if he was in perfect position, such as moving towards 3rd when he gets the ball etc... Fine go for it, but the ball was hit slowly, Rosario is running towards 2nd to field the ball and then has to do a spinning 360 in order to get anything on the throw to 3rd which allows the guy who hit the bloop single to go all the way to 2nd. I mean at the point where you have to do a spinning 360, that should set something off in your mind that you should prob hit the cut off?? I'm sure the coaching staff just had to look at him when he walked into the dugout. Like what the F was that? Even Sano looked at him when he fielded the ball, like what are you doing??

    Pretty sure Molly knew how to bunt when he was playing? Not sure why no one can do it anymore. I wonder if Rod Carew was the manager if guys in today's game could bunt still or if it's more of that guys just don't bunt anymore so when they need to, they just can't??

    Kepler had an amazing run last summer, that showed that he could be someone special, I think he will put up great numbers that will continue to improve for the next 4 - 5 years.

    Yeah the guys who have won things like triple crowns, it's hard with all of these new stats to tell if they were really that valuable to their team or not

    I didn't see an issue with bringing him over, I would have like to see Gee called up before Bartolo, so as to let Bartolo get at least one more minor league start under his belt before coming up. It seems like Gee has done pretty much everything he has been asked to do, give him at least a shot, he has done ok in the past too. I hope Bartolo does good, I'd like to see him rekindle a little of that Mojo he had working with the Mets last year. Pretty sure he has the same crap he had last year when he was 43, just needs to find it.

    Colon was 15 - 8 with a 3.43 era last year, it's possible, more than likely a lot of it was smoke and mirrors, and moving to the Braves allowed basically the same hitters watch him all over again. It's possible that the smoke and mirrors works again for a couple of months in a new league with different hitters. He needs 8 wins to pass Marichal as the all time wins leader from Latin America. Holy crap if Colon won 8 games I would be ecstatic!! Maybe the rotation for the rest of the way could be Santana Berrios Mejia Gee Colon Gibson spotting up Not much better, but for some reason it sounds better?

    Yeah he's kinda middle of the road as far as Aces go, and yeah he would be over matched by most other teams Aces. However, he might be a tad bit better on a good defensive team, plus a guy like him matching up against the other teams Aces means that Berrios and Santana match up against the other teams #2 and #3 guys which gives those guys a much better chance than they would currently have against the #1 and #2??

    Well, I think that Giolito and Lopez right now would blow every Twins minor league pitchers right out of the water right now, even with their regressions that they have had at this point. I mean, they would probably be in the Twins rotation as we speak if they were in the Twins system. I don't think Turley, Jorge or any of the guys they have run back and forth are even close to as good as those two. I'd say they are on the same plane as Mejia right now. So when looking at that, how do they compare to Quintana? I think Archer is out of our league as the Twins have nothing that makes Tampa better, it would be totally different if Archer was in his walk year or close to it, then his value goes way down, but right now the Twins would be lucky to pry away a Gray or a Straily type. What did Boston give up for Pomeranz last year? Pomeranz is probably about as close of a match to Straily as you could find, both went from Oakland where they were mediocre to the national league and found themselves in a good situation and produced.

    But you have to ask yourself, is Tampa Bay better or worse without Archer, so obviously, they are trying to get better by trading him, what do the Twins have that makes Tampa better without Archer? Probably someone like Berrios which of course defeats the purpose for the Twins. Archer ain't happening, so quit thinking about it

    Maybe next year Sano can get Gibson to throw to him??

    It was seeded, after Stanton, returning champ, by the number of home runs hit this year, Bellinger has hit 25 bombs this year compared to Sano's 21. They weren't cherry picked. Sano did great, but he was really lucky to have gone the route he went. Any of the other opening round matchups and Sano would have been one and done. His pitcher was bad, it would be nice to see all of the hitters have to use the same pitcher?

    I really agree with this as far as the bullpen goes, use the young guys see what they have. a Neshek can always be picked up for cheap at the deadline if still in contention. The rotation is a different matter, there aren't any internal options that are really close to being ready, so might as well see what Gee and a few guys like that can do to hold crap together at the backend of the rotation when we need them at least for this year? Next year hopefully there will be a better plan in place for the rotation. But as far as the bullpen goes, keep rolling out some young guys and see what they got?

    I think a team with very little pitching available would be very stupid to trade Santana. That would give the Twins even less pitching for the next couple of years.

    Compare last year's starting OF of Arcia LF, Santana CF, and Sano in RF with Rosario LF, Buxton CF, and Kepler RF. It's no wonder Hughes did OK up to his DL listing. Gibson is like 4 - 4 right now, if he had pitched last year like he has this year he would have been 0 - 8.
