  1. Maybe lower the prices of the seats in the bad areas like the upper deck, but raise the prices of the seats in the prime areas like behind home plate to off set the costs. I'm also guessing they probably lost money on concessions and beer because of the new pitch clock??? I mean if games lasted 30 min longer wouldn't they sell more beer? Just a thought.
  2. Remember the Victory sports channel? That didn't go over too well.
  3. I mean if anyone has potential, probably have to give them a shot. Almost all minor league deals don't pan out, but once in awhile one of them does. Look pretty silly if the Royals gave him a shot and in a year or two he shows up and hits 30 bombs again. Most likely it won't happen, but you know the potential is there. At first I was thinking of that old don't use drugs saying from the 90's. Just SA No. But like I said, it couldn't hurt, could just cut him if it doesn't work out.
  4. Sounds like David Ortiz. Got sent all the way to the spring training facility??? I mean definitely sounds like a head case. I'd take him for little or nothing, that way if he is completely toast you're not out anything. I would not trade anything good for him at this point in time.
  5. Maybe we can get 5 players from the Braves for him?
  6. I hear what you're saying but I do think there is a certain energy that you feel playing in front of your home crowd, now the opponents can shut that energy down at times and you still have to create your own energy, but the home crowd does give a little extra energy at times. I feel at least.
  7. I don't know, I mean Giolito wasn't terrible before he got traded. I mean he went 6 - 6 with a 3.79 era with a crappy white Sox team. 121 innings with 131 K's in like 20 starts. So the Twins could do a lot worse than Giolito. Granted his 2 - 9 after the trade is not good, in fact really bad. But it raises the question why did he fall off the cliff? Might not be stuff related. Could be other factors where he was just not at his best. Again if he is not expensive then I think he'd be a decent #4 behind Pablo Lopez, Joe Ryan, and Bailey Over. Now if you guys think he or the Twins are going to get someone to lead the rotation, well keep dreaming. The Twins are going to sign a #4 or 5 to add depth. To me Giolito is a good get at #4 spot in the rotation.
  8. I wouldn't mind if they added Buxton as long as he was healthy enough to do Buxton type of things. I mean, they'd have to beat Houston then maybe you look to add Buck for the next round which looks like it will be the Rangers. Doesn't mean he would start, but if 90% healthy he'd be a really nice option coming off the bench.
  9. I mean Verlander is sitting at 94, that's not much different. Just need to hit the right spots.
  10. Dang I've seen a couple of Verlander's curve balls get called for strikes and they were just off the zone, I've seen a couple of Ober's pitches hit the line of the strike box, but they weren't called for strikes. Is that Jeffers? Seems like he stabs at the ball and even though it's a strike the blue calls it a ball??
  11. Yeah I thought a rule was made recently that a position player had to be declared a pitcher by pitching a certain amount of innings or the game had to be out of hand one or the other, not a 2 - 2 game? Am I wrong about that? Or was it changed again?
  12. I didn't know you could pitch a position player unless you were like down by 7 or something?? I thought there were some rules made about that?
  13. Bottom of the 9th inning. Rocco tells Buck to go down to the cages and get loosened up. Donovan Solano draws a walk. Twins are down 4 - 3. Rocco switches Castro in for Solano at 1st. At the same time he pulls Kirillof out and low and behold Byron Buxton comes to the plate, grimacing with every warmup swing Buck gets to the plate. Castro steals 2nd, all Buck needs is a base hit now. Count goes to 3 - 2. Buck hits a walk off bomb, as he is limping around the bases he is pulling the horn of his dad's truck. Tell me that wouldn't be a great story. Oh wait a minute, it's happened before, huh?
  14. Apparently he is able to stay healthy
  15. I don't care about any of it. I'm just hoping the Twins can break their losing streak, if they accomplish that, I'm hoping they can pull out the first series, if they get that, etc........ it's the time of the season to hope for the best!!! Maybe we can all re live touch em all!!!!
  16. If you look up the Atlanta Braves stats on baseball reference, you'll notice that they have 9 guys with 400 or more plate appearances. Then they have a guy on the bench with like 260 plate appearances and he's the backup catcher then you have pillar with 160 plate appearances who's like the 4th Ofer. After that pretty much nothing. I wonder how many times Rocco would sit Matt Olson down because a tough lefty is on the mound if he were managing the Braves???
  17. Could you imagine if Atlanta had the juiced ball??
  18. Are you a Vikings fan?? I'm just joking, I see both sides of the argument for sure. I see what the one person said, would you trade the 91 world series for a few division titles in the 90's? I also see if we win it now and know we are going to suck for the next 10 years why even watch? Hope spring eternal, but I also see that a bird in the hand is worth multiples in the bushes. So it is definitely arguable from both sides. One of those tricky discussions for sure.
  19. You have to think that possibly one or two of these guys can make us better, if that's the case then it's only a months worth of money. They might as well pull the trigger.
  20. Oh yeah, I did Batting average and slugging instead of On Base %. So its even higher then. .947
  21. Kepler has gone .305 .357 .590 so that would be an .895 OPS over the last 30 games or 105 at bats. So he has rebounded nicely from his early season struggles. But if I am Max Kepler, personally, I'd want out of Minnesota and try to prove myself somewhere else. I am a supporter of Kepler, especially in the pre-season when everyone said to dump him. But now that many of these guys have had chances to play I think it would be in the Twins best interest to let these other guys like Wallner and such to play. I was not on board with that back in February. I will even take it one step further in the fact that I think it might be questionable weather or not the Twins would be in 1st place without his contributions over the last month or so. But I think now is the time to move on for Kepler, to further his career and for the Twins also. After this season, not now, but after the season obviously. Hopefully he hits another 5 - 6 bombs and can finish north of .245 for the season.
  22. I know he is labeled as a 5 tool player, which includes great defense. But so far at least he seems to be kind of average on the dirt. Not bad, but I've seen some questionable plays this season.
  23. I'm curious as to how this would have been answered at the beginning of the season??
  24. This is exactly correct. This is all about spilt milk. It's all said and done and no one really complained about sending Cano for Lopez last season and no one cried when Danny didn't make the roster. But now that they are doing well people are upset. But like the post above says, it probably says more about the coaching than it does about the players in the Twins system. It appears that either Baltimore's coaches are better than the Twins coaches, or maybe the Twins coaches mess with the players too much and maybe Baltimore just let them be themselves and play?? I'm not sure which one happened, but one of them did because these weren't 21 year olds with their first taste in the pros and all of the sudden they got it, these guys had a lot of years behind them and re found what got them looked at in the first place.
