  1. Colina isn't a good comparison. As Seth said, a 20 year old in the DSL isn't really a prospect at that point. That's 3 seasons of not getting promoted... I'm guessing that's a bit high. That siad, I'd do it.
  2. My guess is you part with less prospects overall, but probably some higher quality ones. As for this deal, everyone knows I've been wanting them to get Body. I'm not as excited about green though (I'd prefer Smith/Giles)… but I wouldn't complain.
  3. Not sure if that May or Garver calling for it in that situation. I will say that May dropped a beauty of a curve on Santana for a strike in that at bat.
  4. Certainly frustrating to not get the sweep once they clawed back into the game... Though that said, those HBPs for Garver and Cave were gifts from the umps... I think the ball did catch Garver based on his reaction, but I was surprised when we won the challenge to HBP in a run with Cave.
  5. I remember something a few years ago about Kepler owning Cleveland... I don't know what his career stats are against Cleveland, but I'm guessing they are pretty impressive.
  6. Both sides have a vested interest in letting it play close to the deadline. Sellers are trying to drum up a higher price. Buyers are willing to let the sellers absorb the injury risk (see Scherzer, Max). So yeah, not expecting much this week... yet I'll be checking for it every day.
  7. I wouldn't be shocked at all if he's traded. he's still a project and out of options. A tanking team would love a guy like that b/c there's decent upside and lots of control. He's either part of their next core, or someone they can flip a in a couple years for more help.
  8. We got he first one in this critical series... win one more and I'm happy. Win two and I'm ecstatic.
  9. There were plenty there a couple months ago when I was there and the central was looking out of reach. They will be there. I'm more concerned about the Twins showing up. They didn't do that well in June.
  10. It's the Vikings. The whole team is jinxed... it always will be.
  11. I'm trying to figure out how the Vikings didn't get brought into this.
  12. If that's the case, you won't see many trades until the deadline... Truthfully, I'd rather we pay a bit more and add some help sooner than later... that's just me. If you start seeing trades in the next week though, then the Twins had better get on it or your negative side is right.
  13. Bumgardner isn't my top choice for a starter, but if that option is on the table, I think Falvine takes it before SF can hang up the phone.
  14. guess they didn't really like many prep players this year... not sure what to think about that.
  15. The good thing about a bidding war is that the bids aren't in cash but in prospects. We've got plenty of those.
  16. The good news is that his approach in the last week or two appears to have changed. We need that badly. I'd have been willing to send him down when the team got healthy, but if he keeps doing what he's done in the last two weeks, the Ks will be a bit more in the acceptable territory and he'll be hitting at a higher average, generating walks, and still getting the HRs. The question at hand is whether or not he's gotten lucky or has made sustainable changes. Cleveland has clawed back into this, and Sano firing on all cylinders will be a pretty massive upgrade going forward.
