  1. It would take a very large object to hide Miguel behind. Or in! Or under!
  2. And I am not sure they want to give Miguel hope there is a way out of RF Purgatory, nor do they want to open that public relations can of worms. For heavens sake, what would they do if he played well there? /)
  3. He is the second prominent Twin to return to a semblance of himself in the third year after a concussion. And I am sure that around MLB there are others. Maybe it just takes that long to do intricate hand eye coordination things. I don't think you can "train" yourself out of a concussion. He really does look his old self!
  4. "Sanos RF Progression"? Great name for a rock band, bad analysis of baseball! :)
  5. I would prefer you not use my name in the same sentence with any term defining the legal profession. I have my reputation to consider!
  6. But if things go south, you can always switch the Lightfoot tune to "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"
  7. It's not just the inning you pull someone, it's the outs, the score, who's up next? Power? Contact? Do you need a steal? Is he better in the field? And for the record, the odds on Sano, especially right now in his hitting doldrums, of butchering a ball in right, and getting a big hit, might be even, at best!
  8. Some people just do not know when to stay dead! :). That said, congrats on your "miraculous" recovery!
  9. I always try to use the word "develop" in the same sentence as the term "when given an opportunity"!
  10. Gladiator fight? More like a pillow fight between two of my Grand Kids. Since neither one is playing that much, apparently both clubs are equally satisfied by the trade!
  11. I am going to go with satirical, you never ever fire a manager in the middle of a winning streak!
  12. Whether you send a send a young guy down who is struggling, has more to do about his mindset, than his physical ability. If you got this far, you must have shown the ability to hit some pretty good pitching. How you mentally handle the inevitable learning curve at this next level should determine if you need or don't need more time in AAA. One thing is certain, you cannot learn to hit MLB pitching, in the minors!
  13. I thought he looked very athletic!
  14. Well that only took 10 game Series! JHC
  15. They have passed on some natural opportunities for Arcia to PH, and haven't used them. And tonight is his second start? In ten games? It's odd, he's too good to waive, and not good enough to play? Please don't get me started on Murphy. It's one thing to announce signing an out of work vet for triple A, it's another to say he will be up shortly. There are teams that might need a 34 year old reserve OF, in the past the Twins might have even been one. But not now! Sheesh
  16. The Undead speaks! And if you are on here around 8, we will also know why! I know what you mean, I too had fowl language problems. I went to the doc, and he told me it was just a chicken. He suggested I just choke it, and the problem would go away!
  17. The Undead speaks! And if you are on here around 8, we will also know why!
  18. Is there any coincidence that when power bats were expensive, the Twins played Piranha ball, and relied heavily on what at that time passed for a serviceable BP. And now that power arms, defense and shutdown BP's are expensive, the Twins have found HR's suddenly more important? This lends me to believe that either Ryan had an epiphany, albeit 10 years too late, or he finds that the pricing structure of certain parts of the game have changed, read lowered, over the time.
  19. I agree, but the Murphy signing and the various reports he is in Rochester for only a short time, is yet another indication of "no plan".
  20. Here is an interesting take on the signing of David Murphy by Ed Thoma. It pretty much states my case for me, with the exception of this thought, It's sink or swim time for the Twins. You can't resurrect this roster with out of work OF'ers. Stay the course, it's going to be ugly, but there is really no choice. http://fpbaseballoutsider.blogspot.com/
  21. If you are talking about those who want a change made because of 9 games I agree with you, but I want a change made because of the last 17 out of 20 yrs. Medicrocy reigns supreme. And every time I think he has it right, going somewhat young this year, he does something like the Murphy thing. There seems no rhyme, no reason. You want to play the youth, and you should, go for it. And stick to it, thick and thin. Let's make this simple: If someone can see a path or a plan that is being followed, please feel free to explain.
  22. Well spoken.you have a roster with no leadoff hitter, no pure 3 hitter, Trevor Plouffe is your cleanup hitter, and with the exception of possibly May, no shutdown RP. And I might as well add, a catcher who couldn't throw Brock out even on a pitch out! while there could be discussion over whether last year was an aberration or not, there doesn't seem to be a doubt the ridiculous May carried them through the entire year. If you attempt to build a team on offense, you are going to get streaky results. It's pretty much the same in all sports. And this is a streak. Some day they will win 6 in a row, and everyone will go YEAH. But the next losing streak is just around the bend. That's offense for you!
  23. Something I don't understand about managing in the bigs, or at least the Twins version. Giving a Rosario the option to bunt at all. If you, the manager, think it's not a great idea, then don't five that sign. Whether we like it or not, Molitor likes the bunt! And after 30 years in organized baseball. That isn't going to change.
