  1. Dobbs making some money for himself.
  2. Really fun half.
  3. I think a reasonable request would have been a team that could occasionally win the Big 10 West. With USC and others joining next year, things change so that might not be reasonable (especially since there won't be a Big 10 West). But these last few years, asking the Gophers to win the West was realistic and they couldn't get it done. I want a program that can consistently compete with Iowa and Wisconsin. With all the money the Big 10 is pulling in for all of its teams, there were resources for the Gophers to step back into some relevance. I don't expect them to be Ohio State but, under Fleck, they've finished in the top 25 once. (Mason managed it twice, and I don't think they've finished in the top 25 other than those three years since before I was born. Could be wrong). They should be able to be better than that.
  4. This is a rough game to watch. Need to move on from Fleck.
  5. That Bucs loss is really looking odd now. This is a good team, somehow. Really impressed with the attitude KOC has created after the Zimmer era. (I liked Zimmer). Flores is a great defensive coordinator. He absolutely should be a head coach but maybe we can get another season from him.
  6. I wish I had posted this a few days ago but I thought Risner made the OL better, which was surprising to me. I liked Cleveland at guard but the offense won the last two games without him and just looked better overall. Not sure if my eyes were right or not but the Vikes seem comfortable with Risner.
  7. Well, first, we beat green bay so yay. Other than that, ugh. If Cousins is out for the year, I'd try to trade hunter and others like Hicks. They won't make the playoffs without Cousins so get some resources that help next year.
  8. My dreams are a lot better than yours ...
  9. That was one of the more fun regular season games I've seen in a while. Glad we won.
  10. This is a fun game to watch
  11. I think I'm done with the PJ Fleck Era.
  12. Might not be a bad thing for the Twins. Good luck to him, whatever happens.
  13. Yeah, big difference between 3-4 and 2-5. Also, SF is a really, really good team (loss to Cleveland not withstanding) so to win it without Jefferson probably means something good clicked.
  14. I was really surprised by this. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/38671694/kim-ng-marlins-general-manager-declining-2024-option She got the Marlins into the post season in a pretty tough division. Not sure if there is more of a back story here but I would have assumed they'd let her stick around longer.
  15. The Twins exceeded my expectations by a lot. I said at the beginning of the year that, if you squint, you could see a really good offense. And, despite the last few games, I think that holds true. There are certainly things to worry about for next year but take a moment and enjoy that we ended an ugly post-season streak, beat the Yankees, and won a game in Houston. Spring training will be here in no time. Hopefully, I'll be able to actually watch more games next season.
  16. That Brooks Lee wins ROY.
  17. I asked my wife if I could blindfold her but ... let's say, it didn't go well. "The kids are still awake" and other words were used.
  18. I'm actually watching this game so my apologies in advance for the loss.
  19. Tied at half. That's better than I expected. Go Vikes.
  20. KC should win this pretty handily.
  21. I mean, Houston should win but we certainly have a good shot. Our pitching has been pretty good and Houston isn't the juggernaut they used to be. I like our young hitters a lot. Gun to my head, I think Houston wins this but I really wouldn't be surprised if we pulled this off. It's not a horrible match-up for us and I could see us winning a game like game 1 against Toronto - 3 runs on 2 homers being all the scoring.
  22. Meh. They made good decisions that I liked (Lopez/Arraez trade), good moves that I was not as high on (Gray/Petty trade), they made a lot of bad decisions and the Twins were rewarded by playing in the worst division. We should be thrilled we beat Toronto and we have a puncher's chance against Houston but if you had misgivings about this FO being able to create a consistent winning team coming into the season, I'm not sure how much this season would change your mind.
