  1. Pretty clear at this point it's about playing 1st base. Should have IL'd Solano by now though.
  2. Lots of smoke, plenty of mirrors, Dallas.
  3. Seriously? Nobody cares about the score?? I'd wager almost everyone cares. Fans, ownership, management and players. Sure There are playing time considerations for actual prospects that get priority. The Twins help pay the bills. But the Saints don't exist solely for the sake of getting Brooks Lee 300 ABs. And they keep score when they play.
  4. Nine things I must do: Mow lawn Wash both cars Dishes Vacuum Trim tree in back yard Wash windows (exterior) Watch grandkids (Friday night) Smoke chicken (Saturday) Think of great jokes for game threads
  5. It's a larger issue than today's game.
  6. So...keep Rocco? Just live with mediocrity?
  7. The last 14 Twins went down in order. Snoozefest.
  8. I realize that's a commonly held opinion. I don't know that I agree. By definition, half of MLB managers are above average, half below. It's certainly possible the range of difference isn't large, but it's alo possible it's quite large. We are talking about 162 games of decisions on playing time, pitching moves. Practice time and procedures. Acceptable/non acceptable behaviors. Leadership. It seems to me a daily 6 month endeavor would lend itself to managment having a large impact, rather than small. I could be wrong. But that's my take. In any case, even if you believe Francona is a unicorn, shouldn't we be looking for the next one? Or do we just accept he's a run of the mill, average guy and not try for better?
  9. I think it's fair to question whether Rocco gets the most out of his team. I certainly believe Francona would have this team in a better spot. Dusty Baker too. Rocco can't squeeze blood from a turnip. That's not the question. The question is, is he able to squeeze all the turnip juice out. I'm not certain, but there's plenty of reason to question that.
  10. There's nothing logical to me about 100 innings being too tough a workload. We're a generation from 300 IP not being unusual.
  11. Wallner gets PH for against a leftie, but not Gallo. I guess nobody else possesses a first baseman's glove.
  12. Incredibly tough play by the 3rd baseman.
  13. Why throw a pitch that can be pulled in a 0-0 game? BTW that's a HR in the only ballpark that matters.
  14. I don't know why, but I can only name 25 letters of the alphabet.
  15. Pretty good illustration of why strikeouts aren't like any other out. 2 innings in a row.
