  1. Off topic, but as of today I'd make it 80-20 against Polanco being a 2024 MN Twin. Unlike the OF, they actually do have a glut of infield options by next year. I think they'll live with Julien's defense, with Lee in the wings and Farmer on the bench as insurance.
  2. If we're gonna see a 10 plus game winning streak I'd prefer to wait a little. Sayyy...October.
  3. Also clearly disproves the oft-repeated mantra that "strikeouts are just like any other out."
  4. I'd say it's 80-20 he's a MN Twin on opening day 2024. The "excess" in the OF, which is somewhat exaggerated, will evaporate. Gallo will be gone for sure, I doubt they resign Taylor, Gordon might not even be a Twin and shouldn't be a starting OFer if he is. Larnach hasn't earned any kind of playing time. There are no outfielders in the minors beating down the door. At this point for 2024, you've probably got Wallner, and hope that Buxton can somehow play CF. And Wallner has proven nothing yet, although it's easy to like what he's shown to date. A free agent right fielder, better than Kepler and/or cheaper? Here's the list https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/free-agents/outfield/ Not very inspiring. On second thought, Make it 90-10 Kepler's in RF on opening day for the Twins.
  5. We're basing all this off 5 innings?
  6. I'd imagine about a 4.25. Identical species
  7. Polanco isn't a good defender, agreed. But he's orders of magnitude better than Julien. Watch one series. Julien has some godawful hands.
  8. "1.55 billion ain't gettin' ya to the grave, fool"
  9. Ha! You're right. 6.37 ERA...clearly he DOESN'T play baseball.
  10. I believe it's "run until someone calls you out."
  11. I had no idea Carson Wentz played baseball too.
  12. "Higher upside"? heh Better MLB outfielders for August and September, 2023? Name them. I understand your extreme obsession with minor leaguers, but it's not reality.
  13. Because there aren't "a half dozen players they could call up from AAA" that could play a decent corner OF and not be a black hole against LH pitching? Garlic maybe? Just spitballin' here.
  14. Maybe so, but that still wouldn't be a "trade deadline deal" IMO. As for Floro, he appears to me less talented than Lopez, but more predictable. Higher floor, lower ceiling. I lost all patience with Lopez, so I don't mind the swap at all. But we're not getting any kind of dominant reliever here, which Lopez could be and sometimes was. We're also not getting the unusable guy that Lopez could be, and sometimes was.
  15. Hopefully, We just need Kuechel to continue to get lucky for a handful of starts here. We're one for one. People have hit on inside straights a handful of times in a row before. It could happen.
  16. I think the point is, swapping MLB players isn't really a "deadline deal" to add to a team. Lopez for Floro was a deal done near the deadline, but doesn't qualify as what would generally be considered a "deadline deal." It neither added MLB talent to a team trying to improve for the stretch drive at the expense of MiLB talent, nor added MiLB talent at the expense of current MLB player(s).
