    I think Ryan went on 15 day IL on 3 Aug. Can't come back until at least the 18th. They can get there without using Kuechel given 2 off days this week. Lopez' regular turn would be the off day Thursday.

    Twins lead a postseason game 3-2, top of the 8th coming up. Opposition has the top of the order due up. Thielbar not available. Starter not an option. Who pitches? I give the ball to Pagan over Jax.

    I'm a "better to remove a starter too early than too late" guy, but even I can't imagine why Gray didn't come out for the 7th. 8 pitches in the 6th. Hadn't had a stressful inning since the 2nd. That said, fantastic job Mr Gray, and well done Twins getting 2 of 3.

    I did like that today, at least, Pagan threw a lot of fastballs. And pretty well located, at that. IMO he's got enough fastball to do that, and his troubles often arise from breaking balls poorly located, or falling behind with breaking stuff and being forced into "get it over" fastballs. I nice slider down and away, ahead in the count, is fine. I'd like to see Jax throw more fastballs, too.

    Right or wrong, I'd Wager there's no decision on Gallo unless/until Kirilloff returns to the active roster. Then I don't know what the Twins will do. But they clearly believe they need him at first base.

    Pretty clearly Pagan has moved ahead of Jax on the Twins bullpen pecking order. Interesting, and proper IMO.
