  1. No chance? One short start or one extra inning game and there's a good chance. So far only the Brewers and Rays are going with 11. Texas has 13 pitchers for the wild card round.
  2. Gonna go out on a limb and suggest the broadcasters, who are trying to maximize revenue, have a lot of input into start times. As is normal and to be expected. As an aside, I'm grateful the games are somewhat staggered, so I can watch more than just one game if I choose.
  3. Simpler than "The Twins will be on ESPN"??
  4. This has been happening to me over the past couple days. Edit: I get the error message shown below multiple times each time I'm on TD in recent days. Sometimes it resolves in a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes.
  5. Best possible 1st round matchup. Twins actually outscored Toronto this season.
  6. Kuechel to IL with "calf injury." Alcala activated. Celestino DFA'd to make 40 man room.
  7. Celestino DFA'd to make room. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/10/twins-designate-gilberto-celestino-for-assignment.html
  8. I'd put that in the "I've got good news, and bad news" category.
  9. I was talking about the Euros. ba-dum-tschh
  10. For those who doubt managers make much difference, just look at the average runs scored per inning under Farmer/Polo!!1!!!111! And their reliever usage has been impeccable!!!!`!
  11. Hey, how 'bout that Ryder Cup team?!
  12. Three. Three times too many, but only three. For some reason, I knew the answer to this without looking it up, but here's proof. https://news.sportslogos.net/2016/08/08/a-short-experiment-the-story-of-the-chicago-white-sox-shorts/baseball/
  13. Today's fun fact: Rockies second baseman Alan Trejo is not in any way related to noted actor Danny Trejo. Weird.
  14. Today's trivia: How many times did the Chicago White Sox actually wear those uniforms with shorts in an MLB game?
  15. Something you'd like to get off your chest after all these years. Indy?
  16. Also wanna chime in on the Rockies' uniforms. Bottom 5 all time. Incredibly ugly. Confirmed by Mrs Chief, BTW, on her way through the family room. "What are they wearing??!" How the heck did someone design them, and then how the **** did someone BUY them??
  17. Also somehow not a ball in play
  18. Coors Field should have as little effect on Ryan's pitch mix as just about any MLB pitcher. The thinner air primarily affects breaking balls. Ryan throws fewer breaking balls than most. Coors Field is a tough place to pitch, but wasn't the primary reason for his struggles. He's been a below average MLB starter the entire second half. No way he should get game 3 ahead of Maeda. Hope it doesn't come to that.
  19. Trevor May. Then again, he May not.
  20. I believe Kirilloff is destined for mediocrity until/unless he learns to turn on the ball. Nobody ever made a living as a power hitter going oppo. It's fine to be able to hit to all fields, but when that's your primary spray chart, you're likely not a very dangerous hitter.
