I have the same reaction. I went to a lot of Portland Beavers games in those days and remember Brito launching balls over the "blue monster" at Civic Stadium and into the street behind the left-field stands. But I don't remember Russo at all. That was the last year of the Beavers in Portland and attendance (never good) was pathetic. There were often about 100 people in the stands, a good share of them scouts planted behind home plate with their radar guns. You could actually hear whatever any fan shouted at the players, which was sometimes amusing and occasionally embarrassing. I might have attended fewer games that year as we knew that the lame-duck team was moving to Utah the next season.
