  1. Paraphrasing Seth in his article on Belisle, “ Molitor trusts Reed.” WTF? My question is what would Reed have to do for Molitor NOT to trust him? Berrios pitched his butt off, but didn’t get any help from his manager. Beyond disheartening! Despite the lack of hitting (as usual), this was a winnable game.
  2. How many games in a row has Reed given up a HR? As Chris Carter would say, “ Come on, man!”
  3. I agree with the Chief and Mike-catcher is such a premium position that if you are talking about Realmuto, you are going to have to overpay. I would do Sano for Realmuto straight up, but doubt the Marlins would do it. We have been waiting for Sano to develop into Micky Mantle, and that’s not going to happen. It’s going to take some of our best prospects to secure someone of Realmuto’s caliber! If I was Miami, it would have to be Gordon and Gonsalves,...............plus. (What Doc just said)
  4. Great article as usual, Nick, but you really mean Robbie Grossman is actually faster than Adrianza? I highly doubt that!
  5. Does anyone know if Polanco can play in minor league games before his suspension is up, or can he partake in any team activities in Florida, for example?
  6. Tough to watch games against one of the worst teams in baseball. 1 run in 14 innings is pathetic!
  7. I found a new way to follow the Twins: check the box scores in the morning. No longer do I watch every pitch and every inning in reverence to my favorite team. It’s too draining, too emotional watching game after game with no signs of improving. Last night’s game, again featuring no offensive production, was the proverbial straw that broke the camal’s back. But I have an idea why this happens nearly every game. The Twins have sorely missed their suspended SS Jorge Polanco. His presence in the 3rd spot in the batting order not only balanced out their lineup, but his production in the second half was one of the reasons our boys sprinted to the playoffs, albeit only one game. With Polanco in the lineup, it frees up Escobar to go back to the utility roll player he has played so well in the last several years. Polanco also gives them a much needed productive right handed hitter in a lineup that has trouble with lefties. He has some power, speed, and was a run producer last year. His defense was surprisingly OK. Baseball, like other sports, is supposed to be entertaining. The Twins are far from that now. They are the opposite of entertaining. Let’s hope Polanco gives them a jolt when he comes back!

    Time to diss Dozier

Don’t know if it was last year or the year before, but he got out of his horrible slump then by going to RF. Tonight both of his doubles were to right and right center. When this happened before-looking to go the opposite way- he absolutely took off and was a monster for the rest of the season. The homers will return for him then when he’ll get better pitches to hammer. Glad for Brian!
  9. I agree about Polanco, Doc!!
  10. Like most Twins fans, I hated the extension, and still do not understand it. But there is no denying Hughes is a warrior. I respect what he accomplished in his major league career, and understand that, although part of the game, career threatening injuries don’t always happen to the other team’s players.
  11. Seth mentioned tonight that Sano is headed to Rochester tomorrow for a rehab assignment. If the Twins were smart, they’d leave him there until his weight is where the trainers want it. The Twins are unlikely to make the playoffs this year, so now is the time to find out who their players of the future are. I’m sure all of us are disappointed to see a young man with immense ability continually battling injuries because he stubbornly refuses to get in playing shape. An extended stay in Rochester might get the message across.
  12. Because Grossman has some damaging pictures............
  13. Gonsalves pitching was the best news of the 2018 Twins baseball calendar- including major and minor league franchises!!!!! June 1 to 0ctober 1 #1-Gonsalves (13-3) #2- Romero. (9-5) #3- Berrios. (17-7) #4- Santana (13-9) #5- May. (6-3)
  14. My opinion about the 4th outfielder: he is only going to play 1-2 times a week, so he has to be a good soldier and not complain about sitting. He has to have a “decent” chance to get on base as a late inning pinch hitter. He most likely is a marginal player, since the front office doesn’t want to prospect to come to the show to sit. He more than likely is perceived to be a good clubhouse influence. Hence Grossman. If the front office deems it ok that a player of Grossman’s ilk is going to play for an extended period of time, the fans have to accept that this is a problem for the portion of the season when this happens. It would be nice if Wade would come up until Buxton is healthy, and Grossman agreed to go to Rochester during that time. But what do you think the chances of that happening are?
  15. I agree-Duffy is definitely not even close to the worse reliever the Twins have. And Buxton and Sano don’t throw any pitches-even when healthy. The Twins made two attempts to find mid range talent in the off-season and got what they deserve. Certainly time to think about giving Gonsalves a chance. I think the Twins realize they have a big problem-literally- with Sano. Maybe he has talent when he is not hurt, but at close to 300 pounds, these injuries are going to happen frequently. Send him down to Rochester for a month, and tell him when he loses 25 pounds, he can come back!
  16. If Berrios doesn’t win Sunday, there should be some serious panic in all of Twins Territory. Our pitching just made the worse team in baseball look like the ‘27 Yankees! This from a team that had already been shut out 4 times this year. The entire organization has the look of a group that’s about to have a date with the executioner. I believe all 4 minor league teams have losing records, and except for our 3 studs pitchers we have been waiting to breathe life into the boys, the hitters have been bad, I don’t even know. 50% of the so-called offense, who by the way are pretty average or slightly below average. When the management’s post analysis of each past season, and then predictions for the new year of success always mentions the need for pitching improvement-improvement we expect we should see from cast off veterans other clubs no longer want for both the starters and relievers, expecting middle age players released by other clubs to suddenly come here and be aces and stoppers and sure thing closers. So, feeble hitting, and atrocious pitching = losing streaks. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result-you Know- is the definition of insanity.
  17. I know a former team mate of Vargas who said he was the nicest guy he had met along the way. But Kennys has no value to the Twins except as a minor league call-up in an injury situation. (Maybe)
  18. Who gets axed on the 40 man?
  19. I’ve been impressed with Ryan LeMarre. Can someone bring some vital statistics about this guy, please? Age, other teams he’s been with, good “d” or good “bat?” Right or left handed. Thanks, Seth should know this info backwards and forwards.
  20. Reading the earlier posts has changed my opinion on the 4th outfield position. Originally, I thought Grossman could go, and someone else would emerge. But I continue to be worried that this club might be susceptible to left handed pitching. Mauer, Lomo, Kepler, and Castro (probably Rosario, too) are considerably weaker against southpaws. It seems to me that last year we saw a lot of Loogys in the late innings to face one of the guys mentioned above. Garver and Escobar would be good options if that situation occurs (If Escobar isn’t already starting). But so would Grossman, and to me he makes more sense than Adrianza or Granite. It appears possible that the team heads north with 13 pitchers, and if that happens we would be left with only 3 options on the bench. Grossman just makes too much sense right now. I like Seth’s choice for pitchers, except I would trade Busenitz for Presley. I think that kid has a chance to be a stud, and I loved what I saw last year. If Busenitz has options, I guess Presley could make the club initially, but if his inconsistencies continue, Busenitz would only be a phone call away. In addition, I think Duffy should be a lock as the long guy. Every team absolutely needs one, but few pitchers have the mental capacity to pitch in that roll. Hughes ‘could’ do it, but I don’t think he would be happy. Finally, my “sleeper” is Zach Littell. I’ve seen him pitch a couple of days ago, and he was terrific.
  21. Any more old, unsigned guys out there?
  22. Palacios and ...........?.??
  23. I’m tempted to go to the dictionary to find words similar to horse****.
