  1. I agree with your assessment and your proposed solution.
  2. I would hate to see Arraez go to another team. But with Lewis and Miranda on their way up sometime soon, something needs to change, I contend that Arraez should DH enough to get 500 at bats a season. Would you rather Arraez get 500 bats at DH or would you rather the 500 at bats at DH be 250 to Sanchez and 150 to Sano and 50 to Jeffers and 50 to Gio? Trade Sanchez and Sano at the trading deadline for a "defense first" catcher who bats lefthanded and more young flame throwers.
  3. Congratulations to all the winners. Well-deserved my fellow posters. You, above all others, are most worthy. While I do realize I am not worthy, it does hurt, not being at least mentioned in passing, for the heart and soul which I put into my posts.
  4. That relay from Kirilloff to Correa to Sanchez was beautiful. Then Dick and Justin replayed it several times and explained why the throw to Correa was on the glove side of Correa and how all 3 players involved, had set themselves up for success by Kirilloff's footwork, Correa glancing back at the runner and his footwork and Sanchez placing his legs in front of the plate, thus blocking the runner, and catching and holding the ball. Morneau said it takes a good first relay throw to make the second relay throw successful. It was a beautiful play which was explained to us viewers in an excellent manner.
  5. Excellent article Ted. Thank you. I look forward to watching the film.
  6. Manaea pitched 7 innings of no-hit ball today. Rogers pitched 1 inning yesterday, no hits and got the save.
  7. Why do teams a player to be named later? What is the purpose of the delay? Possibly the Twins will have a choice of 1 of 3 minor leaguers and the Twinkies can wait to see how those 3 do over the next few months before choosing? Or some other reasons?
  8. What I was trying to say was that the Twinkies could have gotten Manaea for a similar minor league prospects which San Diego gave up, thus getting one more possible starter (who is a lefty) and still kept Taylor.
  9. I'm a;ll for signing Correa, but I think the Twins shou;ld have traded for Manaea, due to the weak haul the A's got for Manaea from San Diego. San Diego in effect replaced 3 years of Paddack for 1 year of Manaea and two years of Pagan for 1 year of Rogers. Interesting.
  10. I am tired from Monday night's Final 4. I haven't recovered my sleep yet. And now this...Taylor Rogers? Say it ain't so Joe.
  11. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !
  12. Nice article. I almost felt as if I were there. Someday soon I will plan a trip to Minneapolis in Janu...Opps, I mean June. I came in 1987 and 1988 and the weather was so pleasant. Not at all humid like North Carolina was at that time. One thing I really liked about the Dome was Wally the Beer Man. What great trips.
  13. Thanks Steve. Good article. It's great to be back to reading about minor league games. Play ball.
  14. I am very optimistic that Noah Miller will become a special player in the major leagues. I hope the Twins hang on to him. He is the real deal in the field at SS and also batting.
  15. Thanks Nick for a good article. My mama said that the Twins starting pitchers for 2022 are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get.
  16. I am "thankful", for another spring. Thankful for the warmth and the promise of new life and Easter. I am thankful for the renewal of preseason optimism that arrives in bits and pieces during the long time of darkness, called "the offseason". It arrives slowly at first, sometimes with a trade or a free agent signing, but it usually begins on a cold, dreary February day as I read that in Minneapolis, the trucks have started loading equipment for Fort Myers. I'm thankful for the relaxed easing into the season at the back fields of the Hammond Stadium complex. Ah, Spring Training. I'm thankful for green grass, the murmur of a crowd at a ballpark and the shouts of the vendors, selling cold beer and peanuts and nachos and cheese with jalapenos. I'm thankful for new Twins tee shirts with the name "Correa" or "Buxton" on the back. I'm thankful for the constant of Dick Bremer, and being able to enjoy watching games with him and conversing about baseball with him and his fellow announcers and guests. I'm thankful for Tony O. and Kitty being selected. And then there are the games themselves: throw the ball, hit the ball, catch the ball or kiss it good-bye; a quick 6-4-3 double play to end a Yankee threat in the ninth; a low scoring pitchers' duel where every pitch and every grounder matters; a Buxton triple; Kepler hitting an rbi single to left field to beat the shift; second guessing a pitching change; an Arraez single to center; Sano scooping a low throw at first base for an out; a Twins reliever being given the game ball after striking out the last White Sox batter; catchers; dirty uniforms; dozing in my recliner while watching the Twins rout the Red Sox at Fenway; planning a trip to Minneapolis for the playoffs; a 35th anniversary reunion for the 87 World Champion Twins; I am thankful for the civility and knowledge and accessibility of Twins Daily. "Thankful" is my word for Twins baseball this year and every year.
