  1. Well the good thing is the Twins didn't make any bad long term commitments last offseason such as multi-year deals to guys like Lynn and Morrison who are flat out not producing. They are also one year closer to ridding themselves of Hughes bad contract which will help in addition to Mauer's 24 million a year coming off the books.
  2. I went to a game on Sunday between the Charlotte Knights (White Sox AAA) and Norfolk Tides (Orioles) and saw some of the rule changes in person for the first time and i gotta admit i love it. The innings breaks are max. 2min. 25 seconds and the pitchers have 20 seconds between batters to begin motion. It really does keep the game moving at a good pace and it's awesome. IMO that's how the game was meant to be played and was played long before TV and all the damn commercials. The game i went to was about 2hrs 15 minutes. MLB could learn a thing or two from AAA.
  3. I'm speechless after this one. This is not a .500 team they are that bad. Wow! Was 2017 really that big of a fluke season for this club? Seems hard to believe. One thing is for certain the pitching has been and still is the achilles heel of this organization and it's been 6+ years since 2011! This is why when you commit to a rebuild you FULLY COMMIT instead of trying to fool the fans with happy talk, dumpster diving and a patchwork of retread free agent starter signings, which is what Terry Ryan pulled for yearsss...Hopefully Romero does well and while they are at it finally start calling up some of the other youngsters such as Gonsalves, Littell, Slegers, etc., and get them badly needed major league experience. We need options.
  4. Collusion just like Lynn. These players are sandbagging because they all got cheated out of millions of dollars this offseason. (ducks).
  5. Sure does look like the rest of the league and the Twins were colluding against Lynn and swindled him out of a multi-year contract for 100+ million at this point doesn't it?
  6. If he could eliminate the first two months of each of his seasons from seasons past fans would think he's a perfectly fine starter. I'm hopeful we finally get that this year. He's not doing terrible so far which is promising.
  7. I've watched enough games this season and see A LOT of questionable calls made by umps to finally agree. It's time for automated pitch calling or at the very least the ability to make appeals, etc.
  8. I can't wait! Nothing better then a yankees sweepppppp! Gibson will get pounded into the dust. This team is no better this year then they were last year.
  9. The other difference too is that Joe Mauer only bats left handed by choice and the same with Justin Morneau who also was not a true left hander either and threw right. Max is a true lefty through and through and i understand his struggles. My brother and I used to get beaned / plunked all the time in little leagues because the righties weren't used to throwing to lefties. it sucked.
  10. He certainly has a nice curveball and heat on his fastball to get guys out.
  11. I also think it has nothing to do with race or anything silly like that. Give him some time to polish his skills and everyone should be happy with the results. I think with him the gaffs are so blatantly obvious that people see them and tee off on them more so then other players. Everyone should just remember one thing, talent can't be taught you either have it or you don't and Rosario has it, he's just a little rough around the edges still.
  12. That would be superb if it happened. He's been throwing off the mound for weeks now including offspeed stuff. By the end of may it will have been 14 months since his surgery.
  13. I see the prevailing opinion of the day here is that Lynn is a dud and shouldn't have been signed. I don't usually blame umps but Chris Conroy blew three or four strike calls that could have made a kept that grand slam from happening. Sorry.
  14. YES! I agree 100% on this. I watched this inning closely and Lynn threw several (as in three or four) strikes right down the middle of the strike zone and Chris Conroy called them all balls. There was one point with two man on where Lynn threw a perfect strike right down broadway and Conroy called it a ball and Lynn just looked around at everyone like what the heck is this in absolute disbelief? At that point Molitor should have gone out to home plate and talked to Conroy (just my opinion).
  15. i think that is within reach. The only two red flags i see are Houston a team which is absolutely loaded and the Yankees a foe that the Twins have absolutely struggled with most of the 2000's.
  16. I'm pretty siked about this starting rotation. For the first time in a LONG time the Twins are strong 1-4. And they've got reinforcements just itching to get to the show and several guys on the mend from TJ. If Romero is really kicking butt and continues to do so in AAA. I'd like to see him get a shot at that fifth spot if Hughes falters.
  17. My guess is signing Buxton to an extension.
  18. I don't blame him for doing this. Like any large employer you've got to speak up or get left behind. It's not personal it's business. The one thing you don't do is sit quietly in the corner with a red stapler on your desk unnoticed. That's how you end up in storage dealing with cockroaches.
  19. Hopefully not! I'd like to keep my paycheck
  20. This has always been the issue with Gibson, inconsistent and a notorious slow starter. He has done it year after year. If he does it again this year, i wouldn't keep him beyond this season.
  21. Sounds to me that he needs to back off the gas on his breaking pitches which should help them break more effectively. Similar analogy would be a bowler that throws too hard and the spin of the ball is not able to overcome the overall speed and therefore does not hook as much as it could.
