  1. I agree. If the Twins aren't willing to pay whatever the cost ends up being to get Yu, even going six years, then they need to move to the next tier of free agent starters ASAP. Cobb, Lynn, and possibly Arrieta. I just hope they don't get stuck with someone like Tillman because no-one wants to go to Minnesota. If that's the case I would rather not sign anyone and let the young kids play in 2018, if he's the only option left on the table at the end of all of this. That said, I think they'll come away with someone here of significance. It may not be Yu but i could see them signing Lynn or Cobb.
  2. As someone currently living in Charlotte (i'm not from there) i can say for certain that the Knights Stadium is awesome. I've seen many games there the last couple of seasons. Charlotte is BOOOMING right now and they are ripe for a major league team if and or when the league expands.
  3. I'll just stop watching. My cable bill is already high enough because of them (League, owners and players collectively) and their tv rights.
  4. Not at all. i just think it's hilarious to see multi-millionaires whine about not getting dramatic salary increases this year.
  5. LOL tension, frustration if not anger. OMG, said free agent mlb player is not going to get an extra 2 or 3 million dollars a year this season if they sign a contract. How on earth can we go on? ohhhh the world is coming to and end for your favorite major league stars.....cry me a river of alligator tears while the rest of us that live in the real world throw pennies at each other.
  6. i though he (Yu) wasn't in a hurry to sign anything anytime soon and was enjoying the process?
  7. My thoughts as well. If they aren't willing to go up to 150/160 they aren't going to get him and he ends up in Chicago.
  8. So your basically saying that we shouldn't factor injury history into a pitcher's consistency or his stats unless it's Lance Lynn because of his "lucky" timing of TJ? While disregarding how injuries have effected Darvish and Cobb and their overall stats and work so far? Whose to say those two seasons Cobb missed were going to be stellar? I don't get it.....to each their own i guess. Like i said earlier, i'd like to have Darvish but if not, Lynn would still be a good signing to walk away with this off-season.
  9. I don't know, i'd have a hard time passing on Lynn if i couldn't get Darvish. Of all three Lynn has been the most consistent when it comes to innings pitched, games started, win-loss record and strikeouts. Darvish is far superior when it comes to k/9, whip and pure stuff but i also like the consistency of Lynn and he's 30.
  10. Your joking right? Personally, if we can't get Darvish i'd still like to have Lynn or Cobb just to shore up the rotation behind Santana and Berrios. There's no way i'd gamble on Gibson or anyone else at this point in the top 3.
  11. NOOOO to bullpen! I want this kid to be a starter long term.
  12. I like your choices except for the Dark Horse. I am pretty low on Stewart after 2017. The guy can't get anyone out. I wouldn't necessarily give up on him in AAA but he has A TON to prove in 2017 to get himself back on the prospects radar and i'm not confident he has it in him to do it.
  13. I just wonder when he's going to make a decision. Its three weeks till pitchers start reporting to camps; will he wait until the very end to make a decision and sign? He is kinda holding the free agent pitching market hostage when it comes to determining contract value, which is what everyone's waiting for. I just don't want to see the Twins end up with nothing when they could be going after Lynn, Cobb or someone else if he decides to go back to the Rangers.
  14. I'm surprised to see Tyler Jay at #10. I'd probably have him fringe 20 at this point. The kid's stock has just plummet the last two seasons. I'd put Lewis Thorpe in at #10 or Zach Littell.
  15. I like the Reed signing a lot. If Rodney bombs out they have another option for closer. In the meantime he can be a solid setup man. The one silver lining is that Hughes is only under contract through 2019. If he pitches well this season (a big if) they could always trade him to a team looking for a filler starter.
  16. If he continues to work on his slider and curve he could become a very good rotation option. If the Twins sign Darvish there won't be as great of need for another starter immediately depending on Hughes status. I like a rotation with Darvish, Santana, Berrios,Gibson, Meija / Hughes 1-5 to start the season. A few extra months in AAA would allow Gonsalves to refine those pitches in AAA which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
  17. i think losing the pick for Lynn would be an okay tradeoff. Cobb meh not so much.
  18. Personally, I'd like to see one more season of sustained quality hitting from him before pulling the trigger.
  19. Yeeepppp. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he signs with them and they will be awesome this year with everything else they've done.
  20. LOL, now mlb rumors is claiming it's not a true rumor.
  21. No sarcasm from me. Don't be surprised if there's news about Arrietta and or Lynn in the next 24 hours as well.
  22. I think something is about to happen. Cole is about to be traded to the Astros. That might be a good sign that the Twins are about to sign Darvish. Prepare for the flurry of moves to follow!
  23. Correction. he lives the offseason in Florida.
