  1. I agree. I want to see more from Gibson, as in an entire season of good starts and that would have to carry over into 2019 as well before I'd offer him an extension. If someone offers you something good for him I would listen for sure.
  2. YES. And it is much much easier to get in shape and stay in shape in your early 20's. I'm not an old dog by any means at 38 but i have already noticed how much harder it is to get in shape. This year i quit smoking, picked up jogging again and are going to join a gym soon to put some muscle back on that i've lost through the years. He (miguel) can do this if he wants to.
  3. I don't place any fault on the Twins for Sano's conditioning troubles. No-one is forcing him to eat poorly and by the time you reach the majors you know the stakes (regardless of where your from) and the importance of keeping yourself in good playing shape. That is universal in all sports be it the NBA, NHL, MLS, etc. Yet we still see athletes in all sports that struggle with conditioning. It's a shame because he is a rare talent and a strong human being. But that said no-one is shoving food down his throat and or forcing him gain 20+ pounds in the offseason, that's on Miguel. He bears most of the personal responsibility in this regardless of what position he plays in the field.
  4. Promote Gordon already and be done with it!
  5. or Torey Lovullo. He's done pretty well with the Diamondbacks. That was the guy i was pulling for from the original three candidates. Although Doug Mientkiewicz would have been okay as well. When the Twins announced Molitor's selection i was not super thrilled.
  6. I don't blame the front office one bit for not committing to these guys when you have performances like this. Look at the garbage numbers Dozier, Buxton and Sano have put up this year. I'm tired of the excuses. No extensions until they have a solid full season, even if it means that Dozier is not resigned this off-season. Just my opinion but the priorities need to be extensions for Berrios, Rosario and Escobar.
  7. Berrios, Rosario, escobar, and possibly Gibson are my vote
  8. Interesting. Similar experience for me except I lost an entire day after taking a spill from my bike as a kid. Too this very day I remember nothing of what happened the ENTIRE day except what mom told me and the imprint / bruise of the bike handle bars on my chest. Mom said i wondered home, couldn't remember my name, birth date, etc. (8 years old at the time). Concussions can be extremely dangerous.
  9. I agree with the previous poster. Both need to go to AAA now. When you can't even hit .200 you need to go to AAA. When you swing at every breaking ball because you have no eye at the plate you need to go to AAA to work on that with minor league coaches.
  10. I second this. I'd like to see what he can do in place of Adrianza.
  11. This lineup is absolutely frustrating to watch. And to think that a few months ago people were insisting that the Twins trade Rosario and Kepler for pitching. Now it's looking like they may have to trade some of that pitching for hitting. What could dealing Gibson, Lynn or Gonsalves net the team. If Sano and Buxton continue to not hit what do they do? The only players hitting right now are Kepler, Rosario and Escobar. That DOES NOT WORK PERIOD! Buxton, Adrianza and Sano should all go down to AAA and Grossman (cringes) should be long gone.
  12. Huh? Baseball prospectus has a good write up on him and his offspeed stuff. https://legacy.baseballprospectus.com/prospects/eyewitness_pit.php?reportid=496
  13. Correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't he have a pretty solid changeup and curveball?
  14. Well yeah, that's a no brainer but specifically the differences between the curve balls.
  15. Twins need to extend Escobar and start thinking about a long term deal for Rosario. Imagine where this team would be without those two.
  16. No its not. You say that until your taxes quadruple. Nobody deserves guaranteed income (i'm not talking about disability or welfare). You SHOULD have to work to earn it.
  17. It took some guts to make this decision by the Front Office although i'm sure they received approval from the Pohlads before hand. 20+ million to eat is a lot! That said, I wish Phil all the best. He really is a class act individual and he battled his tale off trying to work his way back. It's just a shame that injuries have derailed his career at 31 years old. Now the question is do they do the same with Lance Lynn if he continues to stink it up.
  18. Answer to 2. They are just like every other player on this team. You don't play well you get cut, released or traded, assuming you aren't signed to a big multi-year deal like Hughes.
  19. So two more Rochester starts before they reassess. If Lynn has two more bad starts do the Twins slot May in and demote Lynn to the pen? Sounds like Santana is a mid June option at the earliest. Maybe they give Gonsalves a shot? This could get real interesting. I was excited about the Lynn signing but now i'm glad they only have him on a one year deal. My thoughts are keep Lynn on a short leash. If he can't pull it together in these next two starts i think a demotion to the pen is in order. We just have two many options now to put up with this. Edit: meanwhile Gibson is getting pummeled by the Brewers.
  20. Difference between Duffey and Berrios. Berrios can control his curve Duffey can not. Once hitters figured out his (Duffey's) curve was never a strike pitch and the fact that his fastball was pretty hittable his days as a starter were finished.
  21. This is the injury that knocked Radke out the final time in 2006 and ended Glen Perkins career for all intensive purposes. Very very painful and difficult recovery especially if your a pitcher.
