    "It was the fourth time in the last 13 games the Twins gave up at least a dozen runs. How is this still a first-place team?" They seem to play a lot of games at both ends of the spectrum. While surrendering 10 or more runs in 10 or their 60 games already, they've also held opponents to 2 or fewer runs in 20 games, which is pretty impressive.

    Coming off a rare credible hitting performance by an American League pitcher is probably not the ideal time to state this, but I hate HATE inter-league rules. The American League should not be penalized in National League parks. Period. Exclamation Mark. Ampersand.

    I remember Little Falls beating Robbinsdale to win the 2A high school basketball championship in the 70's behind Frankie Wachlarowicz who went on to be a standout Minnesota collegiate player at St. John's. One of the games Litte Falls won in the tourney that year was over a Hibbing team with a fella named McHale.

    And he's under team control for four more years - unless we try to sign him longer term and avoid his arbitration years.

    At 5.32, Rick Porcello's ERA is almost half a run better than Verlander's this year. That pretty much justifies Porcello's 2016 Cy Young in my book.

    Santana's batting average-against on balls in play are going to normalize at some point this season. It's currently .074 which is ridiculous - no matter how much ground Buxton, Kepler and Rosario can cover.

    Sweeping. In olden times, people would sweep for hours and the floor would still be dirty. Then came the realization that they were trying to sweep dirt floors. Soon came wooden floors, carpets and, eventually, technology progressed to the point that mankind sent automated rovers to the planet Mars -where the dirt is called regolith.     Kind of makes me wish I'd appreciated Mauer's peak years all the more. I was probably too busy complaining about a lack of playoff wins or something Kevin Slowey-related.

    I believe that great fielding plays made by the hometown ballboy or ballgirl should be counted as outs at the umpire's discretion and scored U-2.
