  1. At least when Garrett Crochet falters, he has emotional support. His family is a really close-knit group.
  2. Ryan Kreidler looked highly competent at shortstop on a couple of challenging plays.
  3. Joe Ryan is scratched from his pitching assignment today. Is there something in the works?
  4. $2 beers pregame for all Friday and Saturday games. Twins Pass - admission to all 81 home games for $229. ($2.83 per game.) MLB baseball for the price of a Dundas Dukes game. https://bringmethenews.com/minnesota-sports/with-little-to-celebrate-twins-hope-to-lure-fans-in-with-cheap-beer https://www.mlb.com/twins/tickets/specials/twins-pass
  5. Same strategy with the coaches as the Twins brought in Derek Shelton and LaTroy Hawkins. The team is definitely leaning into "comfort" hirings.
  6. Should we read something into this or is it more likely a harried Twins staffer just plopped him there. Twins Depth Chart
  7. We've seen enough of Larnach to move on from him and clear some of the clutter at DH/OF. (OF=Outfield, not OnlyFans.)
  8. Why do I see an ad for this shoe every time I login to Twins Daily? It looks like someone stepped in a giant marshmallow. I realize this site is getting my browsing history and plugging something it thinks I'll buy into the ad frames, but enough already! I will never buy this shoe!!!
  9. In the past, the Twins would just unveil a new uniform to distract us from the current goings-on.
  10. This significantly decreases the odds of signing more lefty-hitting corner outfielders.
  11. Here's a left-handed toast to Mr. Bremer! I'd forgotten Kubel's cycle! Great call - thanks for including that, Seth.
  12. Caratini 1 tablespoon fresh lavender blossoms, plus sprigs for garnish 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup carrot juice 1/2 cup potato vodka such as Blue Ice Put lavender blossoms, sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave until very warm, then stir to dissolve sugar. Let sit at least 20 minutes but no more than 1 hour, then strain syrup. Pour 1/4 cup syrup, carrot juice, and vodka into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well to blend, then strain into 2 martini glasses. Garnish glasses with lavender sprigs. Chill remaining syrup to use another time.
  13. Caratini has also appeared as a pitcher in three different MLB seasons, The Twins now have another option in blowouts.
  14. I agree. Larnach and Wallner are adequate fielders but lacking range. Teaching one or both of them to play 1B would be helpful, IMO.
  15. Maybe a money-scented candle for the Pohlads.
  16. "Secondly, but more importantly, we live in the fastest-changing and least hidebound baseball environment" I would contend that a baseball is still bound by hide.
  17. How about a shortstop who can actually play shortstop once he gets to the MLB?
  18. ...Or a free ride when you've already paid.
  19. The 1981 Twins were decidedly bad but their season still had some interesting tidbits when looking back. It was interrupted by a two-month strike beginning in June so was played in two-halves. The Twins finished 7th in the AL in the first half at 17-39 and 4th in the second half at 24-29. Due to the cancelled games, the Twins ended up playing 11 more contests at home (60) than on the road (49) in 1981 but still finished dead-last in attendance in the MLB with only 469,000 passing through the turnstiles despite it being the last season played at Metropolitan Stadium. There were two facts on Baseball Reference about the Twins that season that were interesting to me: 1. The Twins had 3 players finish in the top 10 voting for Rookie of the year. (Dave Engle 5th - tied with Oakland's Immortal Shooty Babitt; Brad Havens and Gary Ward tied for 9th) Have the Twins ever had more? 2. The Twins used 38 players that season and only one - Pitcher and former Sandinista rebel Al Williams from Nicaragua - was born outside of the U.S.!! I feel safe in claiming that no other Twins roster has had so few foreign players since the team moved from D.C.. What obscure but interesting facts have you unearthed in Twins seasons past? Feel free to share your gems.
  20. " Look for Jenkins to knock on the door to the big leagues in the early going of 2026" With the Twins' luck, Jenkins will injure his hand while knocking. I think the big leagues should install self-opening doors.
