  1. Lost cause. Never had it, so you can't fix what never existed.
  2. If they actually sign Santana now is when you go forward and sign at least 1 more top tier player. Why not give up the 3rd round pick and add another player.
  3. SO you want to trade Pinto for a backup catcher? Kind of odd I would think you would rather move him in part of a deal to get a quality SP.
  4. Colby Rasmus is highly overpaid if you are willing to give him $12M. When I look at his numbers nothing besides the HR's which is not the huge of number stands out. I would not feel bad about Justin Masterson on a 1yr with a club option.
  5. Not gonna happen. For 2 simple reasons. The first is the Twins are too cheap to spend more than $2M for a manager. The second reason is why would he want to waste his time and talent to manage the Twins. Everyone should take a couple of steps back and hold off on the manager hiring and clean house on the upper end. The sad part is he might actually like the challenge to turn this club back into contenders but if course the Pohlad boys need that extra $3M more every year and don't care about winning. If you can pay $23M for a 1B that has no power and hopefully can at least get back to hitting .300 you can pay $5M for a man to turn this club around. Paul Molitor is not the answer.
  6. So Ervin Santana is all that would be added to try to turn this club around? And with the way prospects are held back this looks like the making of another 90+ loss team with not much chance for any success.
  7. The simple question would be who is your replacement? I wish you well and start to enjoy your retirement.
  8. I don't want to see Molitor, Dougie or anyone who was employed by the Twins. The Twins claimed they were going to sign a manager very quickly and it should be obvious that it must be a bench coach or some other title on a current playoff team. That is the only thing that makes sense why a manager has not been names yet. Also, why they are at it find a new everything else why you are at it. New GM, new scouts and a new owner would be nice but would not happen.
  9. I just heard that Ron Washington has resigned as manager of the Texas Rangers citing personal matters. Texas GM Jon Daniels said it was not drug related. I would think they probably told him he could resign or he would be fired either now or after the season so he chose to resign now. I would like to see Gardy shown the door and bring in a new manager. Texas had so many injuries and could not get anything going with so many high priced starters out for the season. The best thing to happen for the future of Minnesota is to completley start from fresh from the top all the way down. Replace Terry Ryan,Gardy, and Rick Anderson to get started rebuilding the franchise.
  10. Only if Joe Mauer can be worked into the trade. Bad contract swap and maybe the Twins could get a better pitcher than Minor in return.
  11. Not to add on anything that was left out of the story, what about being shut down basically every year in September.
  12. Anderson is a horrible pitching coach and should have been fired so many years ago. Along with his protector Ron Gardenhire.
  13. Teams would stop the shift on some hitters if they would break what would be called an unwritten rule in baseball and just learn to bunt and beat the shift for a base hit. I know this is insane that you would first have to teach most hitters to bunt before you could put it in effect. A slap bunt down the 3rd base line might actually go for a double against some shifts.
  14. He was a high school pitcher. He will most likely sign at the last minute for whatever they offer. Or he can just pick a college if he has not already and start his college career and hopefully not drafted again by the Astros in a couple of years.
  15. Trade Suzuki and pick up AJ off of waivers.
  16. Any chance of an Aaron Hicks for Jose Tabata trade? The trade would be a change of scenery for both players which might turn them around. I would only do this if Pittsburgh sent $2-3M in the deal.
  17. I thought it was Berrios Vs. Chuck Norris.
  18. Meyer & Buxton already played in a futures game. To me it would make an organization look bad if you have a player playing multiple years in a game for top prospects. Or another way to put it would be why has this player not been promoted yet if he is a top prospect.
  19. Just wondering if anyone has heard that the reason Joe Mauer is slumping is because he is hurt and playing through it. I am not trying to start a joke of a post. A friend of mine told me he heard that listening to Mike Max. So I am just looking for any information if anyone else has heard the same.
  20. RIP I wish there would have been inter league games back in the 80's so we could have seen Kirby Puckett and Tony Gywnn playing against each other besides All-Star games. Best stats that I saw on yahoo about him.Gwynn had 45 games with at least four hits. In 2,440 career games, Gwynn had only 34 multi-strikeout games. So, the odds were better that Gwynn would get four hits than striking out twice. Let that sink in.
  21. I thought for sure this was an Aaron Hicks post.
  22. No way would I pick him up. Just look at the contract. 2014 $7.7M 2015 $12M 2016 team option $13M, $300K buyout 2017 team option $13.5M $500K buyout
  23. The Twins maybe need to take a page out of the Yankees old playbook. Just start trading your prospects for established players. If you are not going to reward players for their success swing a deal and get something now and win.
  24. The way I see it the Futures Game is a one shot deal. Only a team like the Twins would not promote a player after succeeding throughout the Minors.
  25. That is completely wrong. Alex Meyer has already played in a Futures game with the Nationals.
