  1. Exactly! The Twins don't need more starters they just need better starters to contend. The have a quantity of starters just not much quality to choose from.
  2. Not worth a 2nd round pick and the $14M+ per year. I would rather have Nelson Cruz if they were to give up the pick and the money.
  3. In order to get actual talent back you need to offer something more than AAAA filler. Worley might bring back a decent player if the Twins think he has no chance to make the roster. You can't expect much if you don't include a lower level prospect in any deal.
  4. I would have to disagree with this suggestion. The veterans are the reason we have all the freedoms that we have. I would not like to live in any country where you could basically disappear if you voiced your opinions that was not to the governments liking. Teachers do great things also but not close to what the great veterans did for this country.
  5. what ads? oh that's right firefox blocks all that garbage.
  6. End this dream of signing Diaz. With Jeter announcing his retirement after 2014 he is as good as signed by the Yankees.
  7. Too bad the Twins don't believe in the stolen base. You would think an average manager could figure out if you don't have much power at all you need to rely on speed to help manufacture runs. So it would be a waste of time to bring him in if you don't take advantage of his best asset.
  8. Maybe the Twins should offer Diamond or a different player out of options for him and maybe you could get KC to throw in some cash in the deal as well.
  9. That is exactly why he fits the Twins plan. They always bring in a guy 3 years too late. Another Ruben Sierra.
  10. That does not work. You cannot sign a player and then flip him. I think you can trade the player in either May or June at the earliest.
  11. The odds of the Twins signing Garza are as good as a 85 degree day in MN in January. Not gonna happen. Terry Ryan made his signings and they most likely told him that he had no more money to spend. But they put on a good show "claiming" to be in all most free agents.
  12. Boring... All I hear is that the Twins are in on this guy and that guy but you know they are not making any moves that would be major.
  13. It was nice to see Frank Viola was named the AAA pitching coach for the New York Mets. Too bad MN didn't need any help in grooming their younger pitchers.
  14. Jack Morris is not a HOF pitcher. High era 3.90 and a K/9 that any current Twins pitcher would kill for 5.6K/9 does not make you think of a pitcher deserving of the HOF. If he was worthy how many Cy Young awards does he own? The answer zero. So you can't even say he was ever the best pitcher in any season of his career. I am not a Morris hater just telling it the way I see it. I would like to thank him for the 2 World Series games that he won as a Twin.
  15. This is a joke I don't think Jacque Jones will ever even make it into the Twins HOF. Whoever voted for him should never have voting privileges ever. I know it doesn't hurt anyone to cast a vote for a player but it is an embarrassment to the game when you see the names that get votes(vote). They need to blowup the whole system and kick most of the writers out that are casting votes and come up with a better system.
  16. I think the Yankees are just saying this now so MLB will step in and stop a team from doing what that Cubs were smart enough to pull off last year. They are just upset that they didn't think of it first and think that if it is eliminated players will want to sign with the Yankees because they have a great history of paying high salaries.
  17. With the very slow progress Max Kepler is making and the outfield depth would it be wise to consider a position change back to being a catcher? I thought when the Twins signed him he was a catcher originally but the Twins moved him to the OF. Not really sure how he is the 8th best prospect in the organization.
  18. With the market the way it is for set up men the Twins would be wise to use their depth of left handed relief pitchers to upgrade either the outfield or infield. Brian Duensing obviously has the most value of pitchers that should be made available. Diamond has no value and might be able to stick in the pen.
  19. Does Chris Parmelee have any trade value at all? He is nothing more than another one of a group of AAAA players that never panned out. Is he worth holding onto in hopes that he can have some value as a MN Twin? Or does he get a shot and if he has a poor spring training he gets DFA?
  20. I never saw anything out of Hicks to think that his best place to start the season is at AAA. He has proved nothing besides some defense. When a guy can't hit his weight for most of the season he has not business in the majors.
  21. Can we please be more positive on the job TR has done so far. Mike Pelfrey will be a nice piece to the rotation.
  22. Buster is just doing his part to keep interest in Arroyo alive. Maybe Arroyo's agent asked Buster as a favor to say this to get a deal.
  23. Willingham needs to play LF to have more value in a trade.
  24. How is he a AAAA pitcher? He was rushed by the Braves and with a little time he could be a back end of the rotation guy or a solid lefty in the pen. I will agree with the solid trade part for sure.
