  1. The worst part is what the Twins paid Martin Perez the Twins could have signed Brett Anderson & Sergio Romo for basically the same money. I can say I am VERY TIRED of us bringing in players from Cleveland or Texas because they are familiar with them.
  2. More about Boras getting less money and that he manipulated Murray to try to get himself paid.
  3. Jackson sure showed us how good of a QB he is when they played the Chargers in the playoffs.
  4. Am I a bad person to want to see him drop into 2-3 round of the NFL draft? Heisman trophy winning QB's have not faired that well in the NFL. I went back to 1980 and would have to say Carson Palmer or Cam Newton are the best QB's to win one in that time frame. With 7 complete flops in the NFL. I also was not a fan of Boras trying to extort that money from Oakland to stay out of the NFL draft.
  5. It just shows that pitching coaches are the most overlooked people in the success of most players. Look what Pittsburgh seems to do almost every year. They bring in a guy and figure out what others seem to have missed and they become better pitchers. Keep your Harper's and Machado's of the world, get us an actual pitching coach that can polish these turds into diamonds. The real question, how long are these contracts on pitching coaches and why don't we see teams trying to poach them from successful teams? You see if almost every year in NFL when offensive or defensive coordinators become head coaches.
  6. Once they get control they could demand more money from cable & satellite companies once their current agreement can be changed.
  7. Can't wait for this. We all may recall how great Victory sports turned out for the Pohlads.
  8. The rest of the division besides Cleveland look really bad. White Sox are really close to turning it around.
  9. you are not dumb. he still needs time to get ready. You would expect him to miss a couple of weeks of the regular season as well. Still needs to get into playing shape and no clue when he can start swinging a bat and running as well.
  10. Martin Maldonado, Lucas Duda, Logan Forsythe, Alcides Escobar, Adeiny Hechavarria, Cameron Maybin, John Axford, Tyler Clippard, Jim Johnson, Ryan Madson, Bud Norris, Drew Storen, and Tony Sipp. All they could possibly be signed to minor league deals with some upside. I know I slightly turned it into dumpster diving but nearly all would be better than some of our current options on the roster now.
  11. They signed players too late. They did not have Spring Training and were a mess. Morrison would be a great target for a team to sign to a minor league. If he is healthy and bounces back he will be a great signing and I would highly doubt he would get much money at all. Perfect for Seattle or Baltimore to get.
  12. With teams "colluding" since they finally woke up to the fact nobody should be getting 10 years deals when they are 25+ anymore. I don't expect the Twins to sign top notch players but they should be signing players to minor league deals with invites to Spring Training (what Martin Perez should have got instead of $4M guaranteed.) They also should have signed players that could easily be flipped for prospects at the trade deadline. So much talent out there still that would be better than players projected to make the 25 man roster.
  13. You left out Harper,Machado, & Kimbrell.
  14. Why do I think I read someplace that the Twins made $160M last year? Making $23M doesn't sound like a very good year. It's obviously better than losing money. I do find it very hard to believe that's all they made.
  15. They don't want scholarships they want to get signed by a MLB team.
  16. Greg Holland would have been a good signing for the Twins. He was bad to start the year since he never had a spring training. You would never expect it to make that much of a difference but it seems to with these people signing late. Bud Norris has always been someone that would be useful in many roles.
  17. Just another time where the Twins are being "used" by agents claiming that they may get involved to drive up the price. I would still need to see more improvement in the rotation and bullpen before I think it would be wise to make a push for a player like Kimbrell.
  18. Not to be negative, but what's the point for trading for Realmuto when we don't have a solid rotation along with a closer we can trust for starters. Along with so many questions with the hopes of seeing our offense bounce back after so many "off years" last season from so many players. Along with a solid defensive infield and an actual bench the Twins should not be giving up any top prospects to sign him.
  19. Just find it a little odd that he is not "officially signed" yet. Probably not as odd as the fact it was to a major league contract and not a minor league deal with a Spring invite like he should have got in the first place. Just wanted to see which one of the 7 unworthy players gets axed from the 40 man roster.
  20. They might try to extend some of them. Sad part is they won't get any of them to sign into their free agent years.
  21. If the Twins actually make an offer for either guy the agent is only using the Twins hoping that they put in a high bid just to make something for another team to beat. Only way either player signs with MN would be because of greed. Not because they feel the Twins have the best chance to win a World Series.
  22. No, they are just blowing it everywhere. That is what they are best at being consistent.
  23. As long as he doesn't follow how Sano in how he grew UP.
  24. What it seems to me is like they are given a number that they cannot spend over and whatever they have left over they get to keep. It would be different if Cleveland didn't drop as much as they have. Sad part is that the Twins were only a few good moves away from possibly stealing away the division if they didn't keep dumpster diving for "talent." I'm not saying it required a Bryce Harper type signing to do it.
  25. This is easy. 2 choices and the correct answer may be both. Derek Falvey & Thad Levine seem like 2 that may need to go to improve this organization.
