    No one is asking he be Mike Trout. Why do people always use this as some kind of excuse for how bad a hitter he has been so far? As for rehab, I agree. A week or two in Rochester isn't going to change how he hits after that, imo.

    He's not the one deciding where he is. I believe he was hitting more last year, and not pitching. He shows no reason not to be in AA right now, as a pitcher. So, not sure who to be disappointed in, him, or those not promoting him

    Romero has two starts. Not saying it can't continue.... But what are the odds? Cleveland has been great for two years. I'm guessing they are a low nineties win team this year.

    Of course it does. Your body is aging, as long as you live. There are peak athletic years, and then general decline. I can't tell if that was a serious question.

    Most of the players above him are hitters. How would you compare him to others without seeing others?

    Add me to the "no DH" crowd, and I'm older...the rare pitcher hit does not make up for all the awful pitcher at bats. Nor is there really much strategy, because managers mostly make hte same exact decisions over and over.....

    "know"? good question.....but do you think athletes get more or less athletic, as they age? From what I've read, its both, but hard to say how much is from what cause. And yes, there are plenty of examples of gaining velocity as you age, just as there are many more showing it drops.

    Great start to Romero's career. The innings limit thing, or Verducci effect, is bunk. Not that teams act that way....but it is bunk. I'm guessing he goes around 130 innings as a starter, and then (really depends on the team's playoff picture) he moves to a RP role. But, that's a guess. If they limit him to 6 innings a start, that's over 20 starts the rest of the way. They could send him to AAA for a couple weeks, and just have him miss a few starts. IF I was going to worry about innings, and they are a playoff contender, that's what I'd do. I'd want him in the playoffs.

    That's just not true anymore. Not and more teams have young relief pitchers, because relief pitching is more and more important. Enns will never be a MLB starter on a good team. But he could be a RP. In many ways, it is better for his money making if they switch him, frankly.

    so all the fielder had to do there was run toward third base? I mean, he probably gets there before Mauer. Then Mauer has to choose if he tries to get back or not. Good play by Mauer, I think. Bad play by the fielder for sure. IMO.

    Because pitchers lose velocity as they age. Because he's not really pitched much in 1-2 years. Because he's not in A ball yet (though will be). Age matters. A lot.
