  1. Slegers, Gonsalves, eventually Santana and Mejia can take Lynn's spot. And, Andrew Miller is worth more than a number four starter. Imo. What value does May provide this year, as a starter compared to those players? Imo, not more.
  2. Only one way to find out. There is not currently room in the rotation, and they need a Miller type. Him or Slegers.
  3. I'd certainly retire at this point. Having a functioning brain is was more important than whyever one would stay.
  4. Lynn was not a bad signing, not sure it was good. With Romero, Gonsalves, Slegers, and Mejia all available, and May coming back, it would be handy to have guys with options. And Santana will be back. The staff is filled with older players without options. When people talk about the dodgers using depth... The dodgers have some guys with options they can move around. That, to me, was the bad part about signing Lynn. I never wanted Lamarre on the roster. He's never been good, and probably never will be. I have no issue with Cave being up, other than it proves being left handed has nothing to do with Wade not coming up earlier. The front office has some some good things, and same real head scratcher things. I'm not convinced on them one way or the other yet.
  5. Which thirteen teams are actively tanking? Gordon isn't arriving soon, at least there is no evidence of that. Polanco will be back, why would they call up Gordon this year, after waiting all this time? Then, they will keep him down for service time reasons to start next year, I'd guess. This team's fortunes ride on Sano and Buxton being stars. They don't have any hitting stars, other than maybe Dozier, even around the majors. Until those two produce, I don't think they have much chance to be a good team. Mediocre? Sure. Good? Not without those two producing, imo
  6. Nice win. That Odorizzi trade is quite good. Maybe they should consider more like that.
  7. Rehab or no, send him down until he hits in AAA. No defense is worth this.
  8. They have no long man now. Mind. Boggling.
  9. You know what goes real well with bad baseball and cool weather. A Manhattan....
  10. Time to move Lewis to center field. He can take over for Buston in two years, and Gordon can play short
  11. Not an ounce of sympathy. Hes a professional that isn't doing his job. This front office does not appear interested in promoting Gordon or wade.... They are still in AA ball for some reason.
  12. It was kind of a long day, ya, that was obvious when you explain it! Appreciate the respectful conversation we are having, even if you are wrong....
  13. Youd give up Lewis for a 4th OFer? and, Judge isn't coming for Lewis......JT isn't as good as Judge.
  14. From 2015 to today....JT Realmuto is number 2 in catcher WAR in all of baseball.... From 2016 to today....number 2 in all of baseball.... From 2017 to today....number 3 in all of baseball (Sanchez, who I begged for the Twins to trade for 2 years before he hit the majors, is number 1) That's a huge positional advantage for his team....and will make him expensive.
  15. Assuming you like the OFers they have, and the 3B they have, and Polanco.....that leaves C, 1B, DH, and one MIF spot to "fix" in the next three years. You aren't trading Lewis for a DH only type....so that leaves C, 1B, and one MIF spot. If you trust Gordon at all....maybe no MIF spot. Now, you could deal for a RH OF, and deal one of your existing OF......sure. But, how much does that help? All three are likely 2 WAR (or better) players the next few years. It really comes down to C, 1B, and 2B.....and who has a great 2B available that isn't a contender?
