Who makes Pineda's first seven to eight starts? Do you think they'll win even a third of those?

Basically, assuming they don't acquire three starters in addition to Pineda..... They will need to use Dobnak and another guy for seven to eight starts each.... Do people want the next best guy to make that many starts? It also guarantees Dobnak needs to make at least eight.... They can't skip him.

No way I pay 6-7MM next year for mediocre 1B production.......not with needing 3 starting pitchers, a backup catcher that is Castro good or better, a RP or two.....I guess I think they can afford that if they deal Rosario.....

No chance I pay Cron that much. No way. Zero. I'd also probably trade Rosario, but that depends on the return.

How about ONE of the top picks for this team doing that. Just once......Sky rocket to the majors in 2 years and be very good right away w/o stopping. Just once.* *and no, this isn't about the FO, it's lamenting that for some reason we just aren't getting that. It's no one's fault.....

So it's reasonable that the owners get to keep more profits, and pay the people who actually entertain you less? Or was that not your point? Also, there is not a better way to be a fan than another way.... -
Odorrizi should be a priority for sure. Hopefully he's the second best pitcher they sign, but I'm guessing he's the best. He pitched the league average number of innings for starts, but much more effectively than league average. He's totally worth three years, fifty million.

I've been on this train since this website started. I'd like three little legit starters, though, not two. I'd prefer four, but it's going to be hard to actually add three legit starters in one off season. -
I'd move Chalmers to the bullpen and to AA early next year. He's a good candidate for the 2 to 3 inning guy that piggybacks in a bullpen game, imo.

Because gone are the days of starters going six innings most days. Go look at the list of starters on leader boards.... There aren't many you want more than Odo, and even less that will be available.... It's all about the QO. If there is none, he'll get fifteen a year, imo

They need three pitchers. They aren't going to gut the system to trade for three. That would be stupid. I never said they wouldn't, I said if they don't, then they aren't serious. Nothing more or less was said in that post.
