  1. Well, we now know it won't be Kiriloff. Just wait though, in six years, when he's traded in his last year of control, it will be worth it.
  2. A: Injuries suck. B: I see they are being super aggressive with the call up. When is this team going to be aggressive? It wasn't at the break, that's for sure. I keep being told "just wait, they'll make a big move when they are serious contenders". Like, if not the trade deadline, and if not now, when?
  3. He'd be the best or 2nd best pitcher on this roster right now. And, he'd be here past this year. They'll have to sign at least 2 starters, if not three, this off season.
  4. I, of course, have never said they should spend like the top teams. Not once. But sure, put this out there.
  5. Where do you expect to get three good pitchers next year, if you don't sign good ones? Also, Yu has been good the second half this year, isn't on the IL, and isn't suspended. He's also under contract past this year, so one spot would be filed for next year....
  6. They made money last year, revenue is up, and more than fifty million is coming off the books. Those are all publicly available facts. Do you have any evidence otherwise?
  7. Those comments were not aimed at your comments at all. Others seem to care if he was also taking PEDs, and I don't get why that matters. But I've made my points. He cheated. It is ridiculously easy to get help from team doctors. He didn't. That raises some obvious questions..... And pointed to a lack of some kind of innocence. He's on the wrong side of thirty .He hasn't pitched a full year in three years.
  8. I'm asking why it matters if he was also taking PEDs. He took a banned substance. He didn't work with the team, which is super easy to do. People defending him are hoping, not really thinking about the fact he didn't work with team doctors, paid to work with him....
  9. I really don't get the PED distinction. Why does that matter at all?
  10. Forbes is an estimate. Also, they can just sell it if they ever need money....... They clear tens of millions off the books this year. Pineda. Odorrizi. Reed. Hughes. Gibson. Cron. Castro. Schoop. Perez. That's off the top of my head.
  11. He'll miss 39 games next year, according to Fangraphs.
  12. For those wanting to sign him....what do you do for the first 8-9 starts he'll miss? Start another rookie besides whomever is the fifth starter?
  13. This team has fifty or more million it can add to the budget, and still make a profit. Y'all have to stop listening to the owners about payroll.... Or not. Up to you. But they have plenty of budget.
  14. Because Pineda isn't in rookie ball. He's getting older and breaking down. It couldn't be more different.
  15. How old was Polanco? Did he miss three years of playing a full season? Not even a little comparable.
  16. Playing Devils advocate, you don't know this for certain. It may be true it may not be true. To be clear, the substance is banned. Taking it is cheating.
  17. I doubt they sign one of those guys. They should not sign Pineda. When did he last play a full year? And he knowingly took a banned substance, screwing the team this year. Perez is a number five starter. Mid market teams should not pay that kind of player more than the minimum. The have to lock up Odorrizi. No way you go into the off season needing three pitchers. Good luck to the FO, they are going to need it. Of course, they chose this path last off season, by not acquiring any longer term players, I have no sympathy at all.
  18. He took a banned substance..... Does it matter why? He hurt the team. Does it matter why, other than to keep himself alive, is there a good reason?
  19. So now they probably won't re sign two of the free agents. And shouldn't sign Perez. Ouch. This is gonna hurt in the post season. And next year.
  20. Recency bias. He was great early, now bad. All we recall is the recent stuff. If the plan includes Perez next year, I'll be disappointed.
  21. which clearly they didn't feel he was doing....so why call him up now?
