  1. Big fan of the ability to set it so that clicking on the thread name takes me to the first post I haven't read, instead of the thread beginning! Hoping for dark mode....
  2. I have no interest in Rooker....he won't even come close to Sano's production, and not Kepler's either (esp. if you factor in defense). Lanarch? He should be up in a month, give or take. It's not like he's 19 years old.....
  3. To be clear, you think you'd have to package Sano and Kepler to get 1 good RP? Also, you might want to look at power and walks, and not just BA.....because every team does when assessing players' value.
  4. What should he have done last night? Because there were no good options...
  5. I thought the plan was to piggyback Dobnak and / or Thorpe with Happ and Shoemaker, but apparently not. Like you, I don't understand the plan.
  6. I do agree the FO should be moving on from Waddell, but that's on them, not the manager......
  7. I rip this team a lot for not spending....but I'm not sure who they could/should have signed this off season other than one good SP, rather than two cheap ones. But, so far, Happ has been quite good..... They actually spent a lot of money on Colome.... There is not one non-pitcing position where, given this roster and the minors, that you'd bring in a player other than SS, which they did. That leaves the bullpen and SP.....They weren't signing Bauer. Not sure who else you'd sign after signing Happ. As for the bullpen....which expensive RP was a realistic sign? Maybe they are leaving space to sign Buxton and/or Berrios? But, really, there weren't a lot of players that were realistic at all, that they have space for. I guess you could argue C, but I doubt any FO gives up on Garver after last year's short season, not with Jeffers in the minors.
  8. I really don't understand these thoughts on Sano all over this board. Look at his career, and ask if you want to do anything other than start him at first.
  9. According to the data, little exit velocity comes from the pitcher. You can find studies on line if you want.
  10. KC is legit, if only because they are one of the teams most willing to deal at the deadline if they are close/good, IMO. MN is the most unpredictable of the clubs, for me. I think they should be contenders, but this start and bullpen....ugh.
  11. If the talent pipeline is tapped, this team has very long term issues......
  12. And yet, Arraez hits, so I don't know what to do with him.
  13. no... It starts with the players and the front office.
  14. I said HOPE.....but, ya.
  15. Shocker that he's suddenly ready. Truly. He should play, and play every day. I'm not sure what to make of Gordon, but I'm hoping he's at least a good defensive backup.
  16. sometimes the manager does....and they still don't make the play. Why is that so hard to believe?
  17. There is a massive difference between "Rocco is bad at his job" and "Those two plays weren't his fault". Massive.
  18. You only have to read a few posts up to see he gets little credit for the last two years....somehow. Really, all I see on this board is that the players won the last two years, despite Rocco, so I don't know what you are reading.....
  19. Two great years don't count....but a few bad weeks do?
  20. Do we know number 1 is true non-publicly? Because most leaders say to handle that non-publicly. no, they aren't coddled. Hitting the other way is not good strategy. Not even a little (other than the 9th or later, and even then...) Why do you expect to hear about discipline, publicly?
  21. Didn't they win the division the last two years?
  22. 95% of the time? More like 99%, given fielding stats, higher, even.....but yes, I don't get that decision. I also did not like the pinch runner decision. I endorsed starting the 10th with Colome, but I didn't understand leaving him in after the 2 walks......but I can squint and understand it. But, really, they lost because they couldn't pitch or field simple plays, something not on the manager at all.
  23. 3 weeks of data to decide if you should bench Sano (who has proven to be a good, if not great, hitter)? What is 3 weeks going to really tell anyone? Kepler is a decent to good RF overall. Sano is a good to great hitter, he's likely too young to fall off the earth already. That leaves Kiriloff, Lanarch, Rooker to test among.....and it isn't any contest for who is the least likely to be good player, Rooker. So, call up either Kiriloff or Lanarch and put them in LF for the year unless they stink it up for 6 weeks or more.....
  24. So if Eddie was here, the relief pitchers would pitch better?
