  1. Trade deadline. pitchers coming up from teh minors (THE KEY for me for the future and where they think next year is) Possible extensions Kepler, Garver, Polanco, and younger hitters on the roster I don't care about spoilers at all. I'd like the Sox to win the division, and for their fans to be able to rub it in the Cubs' fans noses, frankly.
  2. Several national writers have suggested Berrios for Pearson (with minor pieces on each side being different depending on the writer). IF the Twins don't think they can extend Berrios, that deal makes sense.
  3. Great infrastructure? Which league average pitcher, reliever or starter, have they developed?
  4. I'd be happy with some homegrown RPs to start....even that has largely been absent. Especially with this FO. It is kind of hard to believe how few even good starters they have developed over the years. There have been exceptions, clearly, but not enough. Hoping that trend starts to change later this year with Winder and others getting their feet wet.
  5. They aren't making the playoffs this year .... There is no reason to keep guys on expiring deals. You could get lucky in a trade, or get nothing.
  6. What exactly do you think you'd get for any reliever not named Rogers? Donaldson for Bohm is interesting.... If they put that money they save next year to a legit SP or SS. Bohm is highly regarded.
  7. Well written! Glad you are enjoying the games.
  8. Replying to @keithlaw For teams with no chance of signing a player I’ve always seen there is no harm with a late round pick. Is there ever a case where the risk of him not agreeing to be drafted again by the team (eg Rocker and Rox) where there can be harm? Or am I looking into this too much? Thx! keithlaw @keithlaw i agree with you, i'd take a guy like that in the 11th and 12th rounds every year
  9. I'd argue it would work for CLE if they put any money into hitting .... but their owner is not known for spending money lately.
  10. An update: @mbrooke_brooke Replying to @Kevin_Goldstein Kevin, on your 2nd point regarding pitchers. What would be the measuring tool. Just inning this yr vs last? Potential injury history. I would think orgs. would be looking to at least have an increase of innings to some degree. @Kevin_Goldstein 2020 was super weird, as was the off-season. So many players got out of routines and many believe that's why we've had so many injuries this year. Just shut them down, give them a normal off-season and start fresh next year. It's fine.
  11. The Angels selected all pitchers. Wow.
  12. Fast reply! Lots of releases already happen, but more will happen after all these signings. Two notes: 1. Teams can have HUGE amounts of players at complex 2. With all the weirdness of 2020, expect a lot of pitchers to simply get shut down until 2022.
  13. Kevin Goldstein of Fangraphs.
  14. I've asked a national writer on Twitter, we'll see if he replies....
  15. Taking injured guys, might allow them to put them on an injured list and not a roster? Meaning they have room for more players? How many guys do teams have room to add given the reduction in minor league teams?
  16. I mean, I'm a pitching guy....but they probably could take a hitter or two at some point.....Where are they even going to find space for all these arms? (I'm guessing most will just be shut down for the year, frankly, outside some work at the minor league complex to see their stuff more closely)
  17. Other than CF, they pretty much did the positions I asked for. Congrats to the first 10 picks, and good luck to them.
  18. I'm surprised no catcher yet......
  19. None taken......but we all should think sometimes about this kind of thing. He thinks he wants an office job (the normal hours and more pay)....but he has leadership that loves him and his degree, and if his plan works, he'll make a very good salary in 2 years.
  20. My son works at one, you'd be surprised who all works at one......
  21. I still can never remember Nebraska is in the Big XXX.
  22. I thought that too....but he's not a very highly ranked QB (no idea why he'd go to Clemson to sit for 2 years).....so, maybe?
  23. Three pitchers and a SS......looks like run prevention is the theme this year.
