  1. If the Twins get a number 3 pitcher for 1 year of Rogers, that's a HUGE win for the Twins. Also, an ERA in the 3s is more like a number 2 these days.
  2. By Bundy or Archer, you mean Bundy (actually, now? now I'd piggyback the two of them)
  3. Also, the Twins were a top 10 bullpen after July 4 last year.....and have added a couple young, likely good, players to it.....
  4. I'm not sure how I feel about the deal.... The Twins were not going to sign Rogers at the end of the year, most likely. Not unless he took a massive discount (why would he?). I never liked the Rooker draft, and don't think he can play D (I'd be ok with him at DH on a team that didn't have Sano). So, 1 year of Rogers and a guy that might or might not be a good hitter who can't play D (imo) given up. Paddack is intriguing. He had issues last year with his fastball. If those get fixed, and the other pitches stay the same, things will be very good with him. He's not some old reclamation project, as some here think. He's as young (give or take a year) as some of the Twins' prospects....I don't know boo about the RP, other than what I've read in the thread. The posts here blaming Rocco, or saying the FO doesn't have a plan.....I think you are wrong. They just have a different plan than you, or than you thought.....Also, when an opportunity arises, and you like it, you take it. That's much better than having some strict plan. I think I'm ok with this trade. Not a huge fan, not a hater. I don't think this team is a WS team with or without Rogers, so losing 1 year of a him probably is worth the gamble on Paddack.
  5. I can promise I put effort into things not on a sport's message board....
  6. Who says no? Rogers, Larnach, Sanchez San Diego catcher (any of their top three), Paddock, Hosmer, minor league player in the top ten...
  7. Agreed. Gore hasn't thrown a strike in two years, apparently....
  8. I doubt Rodgers is in the deal... But remember, the twins were a top ten bullpen in the second half last year.... Try to erase the early months from your minds...
  9. Star pitchers will still pitch a lot....but MOST teams don't have even 1 star pitcher, let alone 4 or 5......
  10. I've been begging the Twins to piggy back pitchers for years....unless you have 4 very good starters, you really need to piggy back to succeed. So, I'm hoping Archer and another are piggy backed.....and since I have zero faith in Bundy, him also. That also gives the younger pitchers MLB experience.....
  11. I'm guessing here, but I think Archer goes short starts, with another "starter" piggy backing him. That likely means he's got a decent leash, as I hope he can get through an order once....... I'd bet Bundy is gone before Archer, but that's a different topic.
  12. He will be, but he's never shown it. That's usually how promotions work. I don't doubt Lewis has great potential....
  13. Martin can hit, and Lewis has not shown that at all, that's how he passes him this year (not long term). I'm not saying it will happen, but I can see it for sure.
  14. Martin should be in MN as the starting LF, or in AAA. I remain baffled he's in AA and Lewis is in AAA. Utterly. I agree with your first sentence, completely.
  15. Debut? Sure. Maybe. But they won't be permanent replacements. Is this really a concern? I feel like people are looking for something to worry about.
  16. Snell and Kepler are a wash, IMO. The Twins don't have three good starting OFers, and people want to trade Kepler? I'm baffled.
  17. This is the year their beliefs in not signing top FA pitchers and their ability to develop them has to pay off. Or I'd fire them. They've had long enough to draft and develop pitching..... And we're still waiting.
