  2. I would wager that a majority of people who post on this forum would agree Rocco was hired to adhere as closely as possible to whatever the front office’s plan is. There is not necessarily anything wrong with that, if the plan is good. Calling Rocco a ‘Yes Man’ is not very nice, but it’s not an invitation to make things personal, either. Thanks!
  3. Rocco doesn’t deserve all the heat he gets but he doesn’t deserve unwavering support, either. Rocco pinch hit for Kirilloff in the 7th last night, when Kirilloff’s spot was most likely going to come up again in the 9th against a right hander. People are ok with this? Rocco plays his cards way too early and takes that saying “games are won in the 7th” way too seriously. Everyone who ever asks “give me an example” will have several examples to choose from in any given week! I don’t get copies of the spreadsheets sent to me, but I’m sure those exist as well. I did like how Rocco let Pagan pitch two innings, instead of the predictable 1 inning, 1 reliever formula. It saves an arm for the next game. Rocco doesn’t decide which arms are on the roster.
  4. It’s kind of a strategy for not throwing wildly, but much harder to handle
  5. Any coaches out here, who actually spend time firing one-hoppers at fielders? I would have loved if my T-ball coach had done that for me
  6. Their minor leaguers are struggling too. It’s gotta be a system thing. Sometimes good coaching is less coaching but i don’t know what’s going on here
  7. The baseball gods can see reverse psychology a mile away 🙂
  8. He actually had two bats! One on each shoulder! Didn’t swing either one! 🤣
  9. C’mon blue, hold your block better than that! You looked like a Vikings lineman on third down there! 🤣
  10. Also, although we will probably see Castro batting in the 9th in a high leverage situation, it sure is nice that Kirilloff’s wrist is good to go.
  11. So I will say something for rocco here, good to give Pagan another inning instead of the 1 reliever = 1 inning formula
  12. Back in the day, we called that Julien at bat a “good morning, good afternoon, and good night.” Three pitches, three strikes, didn’t take the bat off his shoulders.
  13. Back in my day (shakes fist at cloud), I never remember catchers having super long bad defensive stretches like this. So honestly I think you raise a good point.
  14. Hey now. He would be an all star, if not for all his bad outings.
  15. Sure seems like it - I don’t know if you saw the road trip in Cali…
