    He’s half of a platoon with Trevor Larnach. He’s a LOT better than Larnach at hitting LHP and better on defense. You have to think of them combined as one Left Fielder.

    And there it is. Rookies - you had better perform like an All-Star in your first five games or the fans will be calling for your demotion. If they were going to give up on Culpepper after 5 games then they made a HUGE mistake adding him to the roster. That’s a fireable offense for a general manager.

    Can Jenkins provide a spark on offense? Unlikely. The players who he would replace have OPS+ ranging from 106 (Bell) to 138 (Buxton). That’s a high bar for a rookie to exceed. Carson Benge, for example, wouldn’t really improve the Twins offense. Can he improve the outfield defense? Absolutely. He will be better than Larnach or Keaschall immediately.

    The Twin Cities region has 2 million more people than North and South Dakota combined. Season ticket sales drive attendance. They can’t favor the fan who attends once a year over the experience of season ticket holders. If you are worried about a rainout at Target Field, book your vacation over a three game series and buy tickets the day of the game. It never rains out for three days in a row. Target Field averages between 2 and 3 weather postponements per year. The worst case scenario is you have a chance at a doubleheader.

    Minnesotans will sell out the arena for a bad NHL team but won’t fill the stadium for a good MLB team.

    Agree. Player interviews are usually boring as hell. Put them on before or after the game where they belong.

    Not a fan of watching Schwarber hit bombs? I thought it was interesting seeing the Twins advertising the opportunity to buy a ticket this weekend to watch Schwarber. The marketing message isn’t “Buxton’s back” but instead “Watch Schwarber take our lousy pitchers deep”.

    I am surprised they didn’t send Roden down to AAA. If they’re keeping him around, I don’t see how they add Jenkins. If they’re going to call up Jenkins next week, they could have optioned Roden now and waited to see if there was an injury this weekend instead of cutting Jackson.

    Nola has made a career out of making good hitters look bad. Possibly a future HoF.

    Swapping Larnach and Keaschall with Jenkins and Rodriguez would be a HUGE improvement in the outfield defense.

    Someone that athletic should not be as bad as he is on defense. His career is trending towards full time DH.

    There were reports at the trade deadline that he already told the team he would turn it down.

    No flights from AAA cities to Dyersville. Of course the Saints are in Des Moines right now so it isn’t as big of a problem for the Twins.

    If Aaron Sabato could play catcher he would be in the big leagues already.

    The closer role will limit damage. Once you give up the winning run the game is over. That makes it hard to give up a really big inning.

    No reason to rush him to AA this season. His NCAA season started in February.

    Jeffers is gone. The Twins will take the draft pick.
