    He is rearranging the defense on the fly because players have been playing the wrong positions for years. That is requiring a lot of learning on the job. Also, the manager can’t think for the players in the field. Some players are better at playing baseball than others. Kody Clemens knows what to do in every situation. Does Shelton get credit for Kody’s baseball smarts?

    I understand this. I think he will get better in the outfield but I also think he won’t be one of their best three fielding outfielders next season.

    The most likely players to need a pinch runner are Victor Caratini and Ryan Jeffers. Pinch running for either with Jackson and improving the defense is a solid bench move. The bench of Martin/Jackson/Kreidler is there to pinch run and improve the defense. The Twins biggest weakness is on defense.

    He doesn’t play defense well enough to make a roster as a RHB platoon caddy. Do you see any other teams carrying a RHB who only platoons at DH?

    How much leeway will the fans give Culpepper? If he is 0 for 10 this weekend I expect to see people here calling for Marek Houston.

    370 career MLB plate appearances and he’s hitting .184. He’s only been able to hit .238 in AAA. I’m guessing he’s a .200 hitter, true talent. .200/.260/.340

    Kreidler’s new role is to wait until the 8th inning or someone gets injured. He should never be in the starting lineup.
