    10 HR in AAA

Roden had a 909 OPS in St Paul this season in 151 PA. Jenkins has an 831 OPS in 233 PA at the same level. I will bet Jenkins has the better career, but right now they’re basically the same player. Good control of the strike zone, good contact and not enough power. Jenkins has a little more speed but they’re not calling him up to sit on the bench and pinch run.

Are they ready is half of it. Do they give the team their best chance at winning versus playing other players? Culpepper is almost ready and making him the starter is probably better than using Kreidler. I would plan to promote him August 15. Jenkins is not ready and I don’t think he helps the team win more than the outfielders they are already using. He’s not better than Keaschall, Buxton or Larnach. He is probably about as good as Roden and Martin. I would leave him in AAA for the rest of the season to play every day. I would promote Rodriguez and probably Wallner before Jenkins.

People here are going to lose their minds when rosters expand and they call up…. Matt Wallner.
  5. DJL44
He’s a better hitter than Kreidler. Kreidler is the only infielder likely to need a pinch hitter.
  6. DJL44
Okay. So if Culpepper or Jenkins needed to be added to the 40-man this offseason it wouldn’t matter if they were called up now. They don’t have to be added until 2027.

Having Jackson on the roster lets them pinch hit with Jeffers or Caratini every single game. They should be using that roster move more often.
  8. DJL44
I don’t think service time accrues until 3/26. 3/9 is spring training.
  9. DJL44
DFA Josh Bell and add Jenkins? That seems unlikely to improve the offense.
  10. DJL44
Buxton does not have a season ending injury. If he goes back on the IL, they can address it later. I don’t see a good reason to call up Jenkins and option him back to the minors in 4 days. That seems like a waste of an option and a 40-man roster spot.
  11. DJL44
They need to make one move in 4 days - Buxton to the active roster. Once Buxton returns there is no spot for Jenkins in the outfield. I think they will hold onto Jackson until the end of the season. They get another roster spot in September.
  12. DJL44
    That’s Brandon Crawford’s career.
  13. DJL44
Noah Miller should be available as a six year minor league free agent in December of 2027. I doubt the Dodgers add him to the 40-man roster.

Taylor Rogers does not look like he belongs in a contender’s bullpen. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/taylor-rogers-573124?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb He is has been easy to hit, but difficult to hit hard. He is very dependent on his defense.
  15. DJL44
Based on the majority of comments, this loss is clearly all Tristan Gray’s fault.
  16. DJL44
Houston has 11 HR this season. Jenkins has 6.
  17. DJL44
If you really want disappointment, play Larnach at first base.
  18. DJL44
No, that would be quite disappointing.
  19. DJL44
As an aside, this shows how high the floor is for MLB talent is right now. Jorge Soler still hammers the ball when he makes contact and he’s freely available for nothing. The worst teams win 40% of their games and the best win 60%. Imagine if all the NFL teams had records between 7-10 and 10-7 or all NBA teams were grouped between 33-49 and 49-33. MLB is long overdue for expansion.
  20. DJL44
I’m not the one asking for a savior from the minors to fix the offense.
  21. DJL44
Before yesterday’s game, Culpepper was hitting .188 in AAA since returning from injury.
  22. DJL44
Matt Wallner has been crushing the ball in St Paul.
  23. DJL44
Every prospect should be promoted when they get 3 hits and demoted when they go 0 for 4. We can bounce them up and down like a yo-yo.
  24. DJL44
He’s also been offensively challenged this season.

    So cut Bell?
