  1. as bad as the bullpen is, the rotation is threadbare already. Prielipp, Rojas, Festa, Mathews, Morris… none of them are getting to 5 innings in a start reliably or more than 110 innings total on the season. while 3 or 4 of the 5 are likely destined to the bullpen (if they stick in the majors), and they desperately need to move them to the bullpen now, they need them all to stay stretched out just to get the innings.
  2. Erod starting in Right, Martin Left, pushes Larnach to DH, Bell to 1B, and Clemens or Outman off the roster and increases the talent on the 26 man.
  3. Who’d have thunk that running back the same team as last August and September would yield the same results as last August and September?!?!
  4. Coming into the season, I think the consensus here was it was an awful bullpen. outside of a hot streak, consensus was right. It is an awful bullpen!
  5. 2024 his 106 wRC+ ranked 20th among 3b and his 1.1 WAR ranked 26. Above league average is not a good or average 3B.
  6. Clemens in a utility role, fine. As the big side of a 1B platoon, I have problems that can be solved with just a bit more creativity. Emma Rodriguez should push Larnach to primary DH and Bell to primary 1B. Outman off the roster. Larnach would then shift to OF so Rodriguez/Martin can spell Buck.
  7. Bullpen sweat watch only orange? you have some steely nerves! my bullpen sweat is borderline stroke
  8. Why in the hell does this team have a pitch to contact ground baller in the bulllen?
  9. I do like The Pogues! Maybe it’s the drum! David Byrne of The Talking Heads is Scottish, so it could also be some UK thing….
  10. Two need to go down, Outman as the second? also, this bullpen really sucks, does Rojas stay up and Banda get DFA’d? I doubt they limit their options so early in the season, but something has to change.
  11. Don’t make assumptions on age or gender. We welcome all Twins Fans here on TD.
  12. At the beginning of the MLB season there are NBA, MLS and NHL. At the end there’s WNBA and NFL. For the middle half of the season, there’s very little overlap. Do the Twins see exaggerated seasonality relative to the Padres? Did the Padres see a spike in sales when the Chargers went to LA? From what I’ve read, the majority of tickets are sold in the offseason and mostly driven by last year’s record, with some very minor spikes due to offseason acquisitions. the mlb-wide view is that NFL is the favorite sport and baseball is a distant second or third, and young people prefer MLS over MLB. This would lend credence to your theory that financially it’s a limited reserve of disposable income, and competitors vie for the same dollars. what about shopping malls? One would think the rent in a shopping mall (indoor or outdoor) would be very extremely low relative to standalone. Why would a boutique retailer want to be located right next door to a giant discounter? Potential customers could just walk next door and pick the lowest price. While indoor shopping malls are indeed struggling, outdoor malls are booming. Even in this era of online shopping, outdoor malls are doing well. Why? Competition is good for everyone.
