Susac for Arcia and Meyer would be awesome. I would think it would take more. Every team knows catchers are valuable commodities to hold on to, even as backups.
and that's it. He's not a prospect anymore. young, sure, and has had some serious power at the bigs. but he is not a prospect, and not a good fielder. I would like to see Arcia on the bench bat/4th outfielder
its an interesting question. what does TR and the Managerial staff see that I don't? it could be lack of alternatives. it could be something legitimately important in some way that isn't measured...yet... i think its lack of alternatives.
i would venture a guess that the "plan" is to not piss off Pelfrey, like the last time they tried to put him in the pen. they are implementing that plan, at the expense of experience for the best most major league ready prospect they have.
not an indication he's here to stay. If he's on the big league DL, he might as well learn what he can while he can. I still think Buxton's here to stay, but more because of need of a leadoff hitter.
bingo. If a k is just another out, then why measure BABIP? There's a lot more uncertainty with struck balls than whiffed balls. While OBP has a better correlation to runs score than BA, and K rate has a less direct inverse relationship. Errors happen that result in getting on base and advancing runners is more beneficial than not. these events rarely happen on strikeouts.
Watching the Twins feed, and the Carrier commercial comes on, and I think; "Wouldn't it be great if in 15-20 years I was watching this same commercial with Miguel Sano, including the Kent Hrbek type career"
