  1. Granted, not as good as Garver (#1 in OPS) but still very good. Top 10 in framing runs and ISO. His batting average is down which hurts his OPS.
  2. but then Cleveland gets better prospects?....hmmm I guess if your competitor for Bauer is ChiSux that’s a good strategy
  3. agreed, but more bidders drives up the price, doesn’t it? If the Twins were to pull off a trade for Bauer, I’d be very happy about it. I’m just not stumping for it.
  4. 5 Ks.... thank god or the score would be really crooked w/ that outfield
  5. Mitch Garver and Jason Castro are having tremendous seasons and it’s a crime Mitch wasn’t on the ballot at all.
  6. the more I think of it, the less I like trading w/ Cleveland. Cleveland could trade one of their 5 starters for hitters and remain very competitive. I like Boyd and Detroit is a lot further away. Not nearly as competitive the next couple years.
  7. As per usual, Walters gets interesting with his blurbs at the end of his column. Take it with a huge grain of salt. Quote: It used to be forbidden for baseball clubs to trade within their division, especially between rivals. But no more. At least that’s the way the Twins view the possibility of adding Cleveland starter Trevor Bauer for prospects, of which the Twins have plenty. end quote. https://www.twincities.com/2019/06/29/charley-walters-twins-derek-falvey-thad-levine-are-keepers/ Fascinating idea. What say you? How much to pry away Bauer? Would you pull the trigger?
  8. when he’s out of options, his value will significantly diminish.
  9. 18th in OPS loaded. 4th in OPS with RISP
  10. Care to expand? Are Dick n Bert your jam? I get not caring too much for the human interest pieces. They aren’t my favorite either.
  11. I thought that was a funny exchange too. I caught that “uhhh number 87 checks into the game” too. Every ST you get that.
  12. I liked the Atteberry-Provys combo on ‘CCO a couple weeks ago. Gellner is a pro, after a week, she’d have the rough edges smoothed. No more seasoning needed. She’s ready, I hope she gets her shot next season, at least a large chunk of next season.
  13. she is (present tense). The spring training games she called play by play on were great! https://www.mlb.com/twins/news/marney-gellner-wraps-up-twins-play-by-play-stint I’d love for her and Morneau to take over for Dick and Bert
  14. just like you drew it up in the infield dirt
  15. I love high school girls! I get older, they stay the same age
  16. 7 games or 14 is somehow more meaningful than 4?
  17. yeah, everyone wants someone like Canning. Kinda the point. I’m sure the Angels would love to trade away Matt Harvey and Jonathon Lucroy, not much value to be gotten back in return.
  18. agreed, it’s a long shot. You could say that about a lot of the team. They’re a young team. With that obscene Trout deal, they’ll need to stay young and bolster that offense. Turning one building block into two might be enough.
  19. Angels are 4 games back of WC and have lost 3 straight. With Texas and Oakland between them and Cleveland/Boston/Tampa it’s not looking good for them. A couple losses in the division and they’re done. I’m really intrigued by Griffin Canning. He was drafted out of college in 2017 and has excellent K and Bb rates. With small sample size, little experience there’s not a lot known about him. Considering they have Mike Trout and are still in perpetual rebuild limbo, maybe Rooker and pitching prospect (Thorpe/Gonsalves) would do it. I’m sure they’d ask for Kirilloff and Graterol, but with all the questions about Canning, I’d just as soon promote Graterol.
