  1. Oh , he wont be at GCL, be surprised if he isnt at Cedar Rapids, and if not there, Elizabethton. That is just an opinion, but a polished college pitcher usually isnt in the GCL.
  2. I dont doubt that is the rule, just thought unless you touch a bag it was not a force out, but thanks
  3. Ok, just watched the top of the 8th inning, i have a rules question.............runner on 3rd 2 outs , and batter strikes out, with ball in dirt, if Suzuki ends up tagging runner instead of throwing to first , but runner from 3rd scores before tag, does the run count???? I was getting kind of nervous there untill Morales was called out walking out of the dirt.
  4. Vargas 2 at bats, and definitely showing better plate discipline in both, even tho he K'd his first at bat.
  5. Eduardo has to try to score on that slow roller, but darn it Torri
  6. What do you mean, I think we are in desparate need of OF/1b/DH types!!!
  7. If someone can make you feel the glass is half full over glass half empty, i think anyone being positive plays better than if they are negative. So again hard to quantify, but it makes a difference, 1 game or 10 games i dont know.
  8. good job 6 for 6 so far
  9. I havnt looked at Hrbowski mock yet, but the pros, and Hrbowski may be a pro too, are saying Tyler Jay to the Twins. I would be ok with that, but I still prefer Tucker now that Bregman has been chosen.
  10. Yes hard to quantify, but do i think it can last? Not sure, the real test will be after a 4 or 5 game losing streak, how do they respond, or how do they look, do they look defeated or ready to pickup where they lost ground............If the fun in the clubhouse is genuine and their is genuine respect, I DO think it CAN make a difference. IMO
  11. I would say IF IF IF Pelfrey stays the course the rest of the yr, he didnt stick it to us twice, just that he had one out of 3 good yrs, but this years value might be worth the $11M we paid him for the 2 yrs.......again a big IF!!!!!
  12. I think Buxton will be called up, but it will either take another excellent month and or the Twins start faltering a bit before he is recalled, I think after this tough 2 week stretch of games we are about to play, we will know where we are at and whether Buxton is about to be recalled or not...........if the players keep playing well, no reason to put Hunter to the bench and take a chance on changing the chemistry of winning. Now as i stated before if Buxton pushes the issue, of course he needs to be brought up
  13. I think Correa is ready, and the Astros really need a SS after the injury a month or so ago of Lowrie...........also as someone mentioned they are starting to come back to reality and maybe they are trying to squash that with more talented(albeit less experienced) players.......Also like the Twins, I dont think the Astros considered 2016 to be the yr they would make a run, I think they were also thinking 2017 and beyond, but will try to stem the tide if they can.
  14. And i dont like that strategy myself, but i guess if your minor leagues is stocked with talent, then you could, and the Twins are pretty stocked, but I still wouldnt do it.
  15. It is funny, in football or basketball if a player does drop to you, you say "we had him #1 on our board" but in baseball you dont dare say that, cuz the player and agent then will want #1 money
  16. I dont like the Cardinals, but not a bad team to to emulate, the consistency and resilency of that organization is remarkable.
  17. I am glad they are trying him at reliever , more to find out if he has the mentality to do so........but i hope and think i heard it is temporary, and hope he gets another opportunity to start, and then if fails again, we know we have a backend type reliever(with many others possibly too).
  18. I keep doubting him, and will keep smiling all the way if he proves us "doubting Thomas'" wrong.
  19. They have said it is temporary, I wish i could remember exactly where i read that................I think let him relieve for a bit yet, maybe even all yr if they think he could help in the bullpen this yr , if we are in contention(highly unlikely the Twins do this, not ever their MO), then let him have another chance to start next yr(more value, if good) , and if he falters again, then bullpen fulltime, he will be a good bullpen guy if he cant start, he is a Major leaguer one way or the other.
  20. Last yr was the first yr i did my own Twins 10 round Mock, other than Gordon, i didnt have any correct, and most of my players were taken before my turn in the round i chose given player, but here is my uneducated guess 1.(6) Kyle Tucker, If Bregman and Tate not available, and if all 3 are taken, I will guess, Jay. 2b (73) Kyle Cody, RHP............Kentucky pipeline 3.(80) Austin Rei, C................Need a catcher with some offensive upside. 4.(110) Bryan Hudson, LHP......6'8 they like tall pitchers 5.(140) Thomas Eshelman,RHP.. Pitcher with good control 6.(170) Ryan Karstetter, 3rd.....Good hit tool 3rd baseman. 7.(200) Phillip Pfeifer, LHP.........Good Changeup 8.(230) Xavier LeGrant 2b,OF...Good speed 9.(260) John Kilichowski, LHP.....Mostly like the name the new KILLER 10.(290) Luke Wakamatsu, SS..Grew up around the game. There is my prediction, if i get more than 2 right, i am buying a Lottery ticket
  21. I think if they go over 15% they lose 2 1st rd picks not second round, i am just guessing you misspoke or miswrote
  22. I am hoping he isnt taking swings at every pitch in the dirt, after getting strike one on him........I am hoping there was a message to have better at bats..........i thought he was swinging wildly at pitchers pitches.
  23. I agree that is saying quite a bit, and i think with last yrs one week or so promotion means they have big plans for him
  24. First I will preface this by saying, i wish Stauffer was not on the team, but saying Stauffer has been bad for over a yr is not true..........From June 5th of last yr to the end of last yr, he had a ERA of 2.56, with 40 K's in 38 2/3 innings........he has sucked this yr, but not for over the last yr.
