  1. Well, if they go with Aiken, i hope I am wrong, i have been saying to STAY AWAY from him, i am just afraid at #6 to waste a pick, and afraid that is what he would be.
  2. Well, i have been hoping for Bregman, and that is who i voted for, but I am getting to like Tucker more and more, and if Tate falls, I would be happy with any of these 3.
  3. Boston doesnt trade for prospects, they trade prospects for MLB talent.........they have a ton of prospects now, why would they trade for more , especially when catcher is hard to find.
  4. Of course , i think we all would...........do i think he will? No, I would love to be wrong, but any and all weaknesses will be exploited at the best level in baseball, the best minor league hitters have problems adjusting, so he will too, or most likely will.
  5. And I bet they are considering it, but they have decided now is not the time................as much as i agree that one of them would be nice to have at DH, i am not going to argue with results....................as much as WE ALL blame TR or the manager for losing, give them credit for pushing the correct buttons, to keep us on the winning side.
  6. I cant wait to go to work tomorrow to celebrate!!!! LOL
  7. Best record percentage wise In American league
  8. Ricky is just fine for now, why the hurry to get rid of him??? Who is going to do better at the MLB level right now???? Milone, maybe.......Meyer, NO........Berrios , most likely not YET, WHO??????? Dean IMO isnt even replacement level type player, I think he was available for Rule 5 wasnt taken, Baxendale will never see MLB.......Batts has already been moved up........if we have a predicament with pitching depth, be happy.
  9. By the way Stauffer lowered his ERA from 8.10 to 8.03 LOL :/
  10. Well now if we split away against Boston, i will consider that a win win!! But that doesnt mean, i dont want a sweep
  11. Those that dont know HISTORY are doomed to repeat it, well it was only their announcers
  12. I will say , i like replay, because it will keep them honest on the bags, and not make em up , like Cowboy Joe seems(ed) to do, the dont want to get it wrong now, where before they RULED!!!! Look at some of the plate umpires, most are good, but they like to still make that call , it seems , just to piss them off.
  13. I would have Fien in now with the lead
  14. Well, just got in a while ago, and had to catch up on my DVR, but i didnt like the decision to start Stauffer for the 7th, should have known they got lucky that he only gave up 1 run in 2 innings, now instead 2 runs in 2 and 1/3.........7th inning tied, should be Pressly , 8th Boyer or Fien, then 9th Perkins or Fien depending on score.
  15. This we can agree on ........and I am not advocating trading Sano, but...................never say never!!
  16. And really there is little difference in extending vs FA , in terms of giving 7 or 8 yr contracts to pitchers, I just wouldnt do it.........FA you do lose a draft pick, so understand there is some difference, but not in terms of money.
  17. I think, in general prospects are overrated, heck look at how US TWINS fans, we covet ALL our prospects, and some people say, dont trade any of them , that is crazy!!! Not saying you one of them, but i would trade a prospect for a chance to win a World Series than keep him and hope he makes us good later, later may never come...........again as i have said previously , this is not the year, but if it was, I would do something like your trade scenario for Greinke................and since you either didnt see my other post that was directed toward you, Carlos Santana, Dustin Ackley , and Jesus Montero were all ranked higher than any of the 3 prospects that were traded, and none of them are special, Santana may be close , but he is one dimensional...................So again prospects are just, like a box of chocolates, you dont know what you are going to get.
  18. If you had these players at the time would you have traded them for Grienke: Jesus Montero, Dusin Ackley, Carlos Santana?????
  19. I dont want to just spend the cash on the chance of Greinke when you might get Johan Santana, Carlos Zambrano, Barry Zito, Mike Hampton..........I rather take a chance with somebody like that on shorter term risk ,when you have a chance to win, who has shown durability and sustained success......It all a crapshoot, but I would like to limit my risk.............And if I had a chance to win, YES i would trade those 3 for Greinke and a chance to WIN NOW............ They are good players, but not superstarsAnd I would for sure give up Berrios for Hamels , and maybe a midtier level prospect in the 15 to 20 range.................now would i give up Sano, if I thought we could win NOW yes, but I dont think we can win NOW, so NO!!!! But that would have to be a straight up one for one.
  20. I might be wrong, but i thought the new baseball year started after the end of the World Series
  21. Um, sex offenders, and rightfully so.
  22. What i want to happen and what will are completely two different things.....................In the immediate future, I think Fien comes up, Tonkin goes, Pressly soon to follow with Arcia or Vargas up............I would like to see Stauffer be DFA'd but i would be super surprised(but happy) if that happened..............I dont think Schafer sees Minnesota again , unless an injury to Hicks before we would DFA him. With how we are playing, I dont want to see too many changes that could disrupt the good feel that might be in the locker room right now.
  23. To expand on my above post, we will never, and I hope we never sign a pitcher to a 7 or 8 yr contract, but I would be, and would like the team to be open to going after, a good to elite pitcher that has 2 , 3 yrs left on a contract when we are in contention or if we are in contention.
  24. I originally brought up Hamels as a generic thought back in April, just seeing what it would cost to get a #1 type pitcher, and then just recently cuz , at the time it was unrealistic, based on we were not going to be good, and we never trade for that type of pitcher................Now it is getting closer to being realistic that we could be in the race, and i think more people are, including myself open to an idea like that( Hamels, 3 plus yrs left, Cueto rental)...........and the front office has never been in the position of having excess prospects to look at trading for a missing piece for this year or in the near future....................I like your idea of going after someone like a young pitcher from Tampa, but I think they have him locked up already, would have to look and havnt yet as i write this LOL(plus they have a good record this yr).................I do understand the mileage on Hamels arm, but if he is not elite, he is right below the elite, and depends on what you consider elite.................all this talk could be saved for next yr, when it is more realistic that we could be good
