  1. I really dont know anything about FIP and xFIP, but i do know luck and i think i know when someone is pitching well or not, but I think if someone wants to go back, i would take luck over FIP or xFIP when it comes to the 87 Twins, I bet that team wasnt going to win it again if the season were to be played again........enjoy the ride while it lasts, it may take you to the promised land before regressing to the means.
  2. I personally had Hurlbut as getting killed in AA and out of baseball by seasons end, but he is a big time surprise to me, but we have had alot of pitchers doing well, it is not easy being the man(Brad Stiel?) who has to say who gets to move up and who has to stay at the level they are in, I guess, a good problem to have
  3. Well Brock , as it was stated it does sound that way, can you expound on your thoughts??....................................... I agree at this time and place I may not make a trade like that, we are hopefully a yr away from doing something like this.........but as much as we like Sano, he is still just a prospect. And I guess I like Berrios , but he is not a top of the rotation type pitcher......his type will be easier to find, maybe not in hard work, but in talent.......Sano is tougher to trade cuz of the possible potential. But almost every year there are prospects, like Dominic Brown, Jesus Montero, who were top 10 prospects in all of baseball and who are average, much less not superstars. So trading away potential for actual results is or can be a good thing, IMO
  4. Boy, people get offended easy, even when there is nothing to be offended about, LOL.
  5. Buxton= Melvin Upton Jr lite............................Just kidding, or at least i hope so lol...........but he seems to have the exact same build, kind of looks like him when he runs........I am hoping for an Eric Davis comp for a floor.
  6. I just found it odd, in my opinion they put the weaker SS at SS and the weaker LF in LF, at least i would assume most people think Escobar is a better SS than Nunez......but maybe they also think Escobar is a better LF but defensively Escobar has been poor in LF.
  7. If this is the case, I hope that Vargas has better AB's I am frustrated watching him bat and flail........I am hoping Vargas turns a corner, he seems to have so much potential for a .280, 25 and 100 line at the end of a season.
  8. Or Nunez, but they put Nunez at SS today, so that is why i said Escobar, when they wanted a 5th today, they went Escobar and not Nunez..........but it is also possible that Polanco comes back up soon and then Escobar would be that 5th OF if Robinson was let go. Mr Super Utility guy.
  9. Well, my uneducated guess, is Buxton to CF , Hicks if not IR'd to RF, Rosario LF and Hunter to DH, Vargas may end up going back down or stay as a bench bat, but I think sent down if Hunter is the primary DH. Robinson stays as 4th OF with of course(and i hate this) Escobar 5th OF.
  10. Well, when i rank, i go by performance and what is believed to be their upside, not saying some wont become more or less than what is projected, but the projections are done my professionals or people who do projections for a living if professionals is not the correct word , not us peons LOL........So with that i would put put Jay at 4, as someone else said, it is all personal preference based on how you rank them, by performance, projection or some combination of both.
  11. Pretty close to what I think also.
  12. I dont know why Graham doesnt pitch more, he really hasnt done a poor job, i know he had one really bad outing, but other than that, i dont recall anything else major.................Here is my Im in lead relief pitchers, 7th Pressly, 8th Fien, 9th Perkins.............and my behind by 3 or more runs pitchers, 7th Graham, 8th Tonkin, 9th Boyer.......and then two lefties, one who is fallen back and the other who management is biding its time to see if he can turn it around, I give it till the all star break , then Duensing is gone if he hasnt improved significantly.
  13. Now we will really have a basketball team with Chris Paul!!!!
  14. Wow , a little testy, i saw no talking down to anyone in that comment, lets not show arrogance.
  15. I was just looking at Atlanta's selections, 3 of 7 selections are 17 including their 1st 2 and another 2 are 18. Must be risk adverse and like upside, i am guessing.
  16. Does that mean Wesley Rodriguez is next???/
  17. Blankenhorn i think is projected as an OF and Cabbage at 3B......both were HS SS, so should be athletic.
  18. Well.......my 4th and 5th Rd picks have already been chosen, I had Hudson in the 4th , and Eshelman in the 5th, and he went really early pick 46. my next pick Rd 6: I had Ryan Karstetter 3B, well they just basically chose one in Blankenhorn, so i am sure i will get that one wrong, not that I expected to get any correct LOL
  19. Prediction: Round 3 (80) Austin Rei, C , Washington
  20. The problem as I see it, if you call it a problem , is all the top prospects are at the same stage of development, and you will be kind of stuck if you wait to see who is good and who wont be, but you dont want to give away someone who may turn into a star or an above avg player............ideally it would be nice to have your top prospects spread out AAA to Rookie, that way if one of your players that plays lets say SS who is a stud at AAA, and you have another that is in A ball or so, then you can use that player as trade bait because you will have your future covered at that position. I will use Houston as an example, they have Correa at SS and Altuve at 2nd, one a possible future star and the other a above avg 2nd baseman, now they drafted Bregman another possible future super player, now they dont need 3, so one could be used as trade bait for another position of weakness in the future........I dont think we have that here in Minnesota.
  21. Blyleven? altho he was only in Minor leagues for a few weeks.
  22. You could say this about every pitcher drafted, all starters pitch one day a week, that is it.....none have been tested until they reach the pro level and even then some teams have more than 5 man pitching staffs and limit their pitchers the first yr or two.
  23. Hey!!! Nothing wrong with that, that means instead of becoming FA , they go and retire
  24. Basically 2 for 2, I had my choice for #1 as Tucker , but if Bregman or Tate were their they would take them, and if all 3 were gone , i said Jay, and got Cody right in 2nd round.........I thought i had a chance to get 2, of the first 10, now if i can get one more, it will be all luck and i will buy a lottery ticket........my next prediction for Round 3 is: Austin Rei , Catcher......cmon baby LOL
