    I think moving back to the West Coast was what Nolasco needed, poor baby. Other than that, I agree with the article and think that Allen should be the first but not the last. This team needs new voices- a lot of them.

    My first question for Mr. Falvey: what do you see in Paul Molitor that might convince you he can successfully manage this team?

    I was thinking maybe the poster meant Max Murphy and just typed Kepler instead. Kepler never looked like Mickey Mantle. Murphy had the OPS of .958 in 2014, then it dropped to .650 for 93 games in 2015. I do think Murphy still has a shot, but that injury has pushed him a ways down the ladder. Here's hoping he comes back.

    Thanks, Seth. I thought Kanzler had been released, but when I checked the MiLB pages I forgot to look at the year so I assumed it was all current. Oops. I was the charter member of the Free Max Murphy bandwagon. We broke an axle a while back. Still not sure if it can be fixed.

    Love the list, like always. I was wondering what kind of shot these players have. I'd like to know from, say, 5 years ago- how many make the majors for more than a week? Obviously being in this group still makes you a real longshot. I looked for an old list and all I quickly found was 2014: let's see how that list looks two years later. How many of these players still have a chance? Where did they end this year? 50. Lewin Diaz- Elizabethton 49. Ryan Eades- Chattanooga 48. Tanner English- Rochester 47. Jonatan Hinojosa- Cedar Rapids 46. Max Murphy- Fort Myers 45. Dalton Hicks- Chattanooga 44. Jason Kanzler- Fort Myers 43. Rainis Silva- Cedar Rapids 42. Felix Jorge- Chattanooga 41. Brett Lee- released by Twins, signed by Brewers and released So 9 of the 10 are still in the organization, which surprises me (great job Seth) and some of them look to have a decent chance of making it. Let's hope this year's class does at least as well.

    Can that please be Tommy's last appearance in a Twins uniform? Haven't we suffered enough with this season? Could we please have just a little hope, and closure? Thank you. Sincerely, big dog

    Yeah, I've been down on Light and Tonkin lately. Today didn't help me fight that one bit. I'd love to do better than those two. I don't think it would be all that hard, either.

    It's fair to say that both sides were somewhat surprised by different aspects of the interview process. I thought the Twins would be a little more broad-minded about bathroom usage, for example.

    Well, just to quiet a little of the speculation, I will go on record and let people know that I, big dog, have withdrawn my name from consideration of the Twins' job. They agreed to respect my privacy and not release any information, but I think I owe it to people to let them know. It looks like a great job, but frankly, they don't allow dogs to have access to the clubhouse and I just can't support that kind of attitude. So I'm out. I do wish them well with their search however.

    100% agree, but if you have kids who are doing well in a good high school, moving them halfway across the country might not be the best plan for them.

    #18 because I've been a rabid Twins fan for nearly a half-century and I just can't go cold turkey. And trust me, this year I've tried.

    Agreed, but the time to make a play is not when you are allowing the tying run to get into scoring position in the ninth inning, by trying to throw out a runner who really doesn't matter too much...

    Thanks, Seth, really fun article and walk down memory lane. Jones and Ryan looked like they were going to be something for a while. Jones eventually had a bit of career. For some reason I must have gotten 3 or 4 Danny Walton cards in the mid-70s, even though I didn't collect cards in any real sense. That 1970 season, 454 ABs and a 117 OPS+, really jumped out compared to his Twins career. And his big year in Tacoma came 4 years after his MLB breakout, so he should get an asterisk! Yeah, the big scary story is how few of them went on to be successful in the majors. Let's hope at least one of Palka/Walker breaks into that elite group.

    But to accurately view Victory during this losing streak, you have to be sure to look through the large end of the telescope instead of the small end.

    I think players perform better when they at least have some chance to win. We've got to have a pitcher they can count on. I don't see anyone else stepping up to that position.

    If someone could somehow teach Centeno to be better at picking up low pitches, he'd have a shot.

    Wow. Centeno isn't really a catch-and-throw guy, but he sure is a throw guy. Wow.

    I never played Oregon Trail, but I played enough similar games to laugh out loud a few times at the early posts in the thread. re Logan Schafer- I didn't know anything much about him other than his Rochester stats. I am astounded to see that we just called up a 29-year-old to start in center, who has been in the big leagues for almost 300 games and has a career OPS+ of 66. Huh. Interesting. Let's hope tonight is the night he breaks out.

    I'm sure Napoli is wondering how Mauer was allowed to make a catch that far into the stands. In Philadelphia they would have stolen his glove and probably tried to stab him. Or at least that's what I've heard.

    Agreed. Watching santana triple-clutch as he strolled to second on that ball in the dirt was just about the last straw. I don't see the hope for the future if Molitor keeps playing guys with no future. Time to take a break.
