  1. Gray is in the second year of a three year contract. He was worth it last year, not earning his money this year. Next year he is getting $35 million with a $5 million player option in 27. The Cardinals would love to unload him, but who would take him at that price? If the Twins had signed him, his contract would be a bigger albatross than Correa's was.
  2. Don't the Twins have to pay a portion of Correa's contract also? Should be included in the overall list? For $4.5 mil. I would surely consider keeping Larnach. He keeps showing signs of breaking out and living up to his potential. They definitely need a new manager next year. Baldelli just doesn't seem to have the team laying for him.
  3. Huh? th guy is hitting about .200... that's a bat you can count on?
  4. I can't help but get excited at the possibility of an outfield of Roden, Wallner and Outman. They might combine for 200 hits if one of them gets hot.
  5. Actually I'd take Sano over Wallner. Sano was a right handed hitter, was willing to move to any position the team needed to play on and on.
  6. Wallner to me nothing more than a home boy, white, Sano.
  7. As recall Correa provided names at the 23 deadline too. One was Lopez from the Orioles... How did that work out? Whatever Correa wants...Correa gets? No player is that important to the team. Correa should have concentrated on playing and let management handle the business end.
  8. The Twins owners let him down? The guy opted out of his original contract. only resigning with the Twins when two other teams passed on him for physical reasons. The Twins took a chance and signed him for a team record contract. He then went out and underperformed for the 2.5 seasons, spending a large amount of time on the IL. He knew full well the Twins signed him to play SS. but then he was traded he whined that he had asked the Twins to move him to 3rd base. . and the Twins ownership let him down? What a Prima Donna
  9. OMG, Twins daily has had some ridiculous articles...but this one takes the cake.
  10. It isn't how much money the Twins have saved ...it comes down to how they use that money.
  11. The Twins got a CF named Outman for Stewart ...he should fit right in
  12. Salary dump? He was not performing up to expectations and his future looked dismal with the Twins. He may be able to rejuvenate his career in Houston Kind of an albatross off the Twins neck. This will free up money for the Twins to their sign younger players.
  13. I remember another Twins prospect from a couple years ago, a guy named Rooker, that all the wanna be GM's dissed because of his defense. It seems he has carved out a nice career.
  14. The Pohlads really enjoy watching the Twins lose, it was their highest form of entertainment. I also like how people talk about "we" when referring to the Twins. That is until something goes wrong, then it is they or the cheap Pohlads. If it is truly "we" then chip in some money to help make the payroll. It is easy to critique when you have nothing in the game
  15. If they want to have a chance at doing anything this year they cannot give up the only reliable lefty they have, unless they get one in return. If they lose him at the end of the season, that's the game they play to stay half way viable this season. Just like the rumors of trading Buxton, after all these years he is finally living up to his hype, he wants to be here and he is on a team friendly contract. Why on earth would the Twins trade him now?
  16. So tired of the trade deadline hype. Selling teams are not going to give up their assets for mediocre minor leaguers. Where did that fantasy come from? Selling teams are in the drivers seat and they can hold out for a kings ransom. The only time I see a deadline trade being worth is a team like the Tigers this year, A great team that needs serious bullpen help to really put them over the top. It is going to take more than one player or two to give a team like the Twins there. The time to deal for a team like the Twins is in the off season.
