    I know Mauer has gotten a lot of criticism, and much of it deserved, but his May has been a lot better than his April (which I guess there was no way to go than up). His numbers have been ticking upwards.

    I always thought this had a sad ending when I was a kid. Bugs could get a little dark and was probably a sociopath..

    Technically rectangular - but this is what I think of with square pizza - except my school cut dish-washing and went to Styrofoam trays and plastic sporks (which were not that useful). The pizza was usually shiny from the extra grease (which I am sure added extra flavor).     I missed Sunday's game thread. Is it worth going to read the ninth inning comments or did people just lose their will to live and/or type comments?

    I am pretty sure he gave you a subtle look of disappointment and quietly shook his head (which is his version of giving you the finger and shouting M&&&&&%% F&&&&&&&& from North Dakota!!!)

    I missed most of the game - actually turned on the car radio just as he was getting in the batting box. Home run aside, did I hear that his earlier single was another pulled shot to right field? If so, that would be the third time in a couple of weeks. If he can do that from time to time, that will do a lot to lessen the effectiveness of the defensive shifts teams have been using against him. Home run was great, but was also happy to hear about the right field single (if I heard that correctly). When I saw clips of the hit later, that might be the most animated I have seen him after a home run although there did look to be potential for disaster for either him or Sano with the victory carry. This is a pretty easy team to cheer for -- they seem pretty enthused and engaged. I suppose it helps the morale not to start 0-9.

    It feels nice to be able to beat the Royals again. Like that is the natural order of things.

    Morneau. Mauer was actually a pretty decent basketball player.

    If I find out Vanimal of Whine Line is not the great former Twins pitcher - I am not sure I am going to be able to deal with it. Sometimes you just need someone to believe in.

    I predict this scenario is going to actually happen in game 7 of the world series this fall. It will be the third most exciting play of the game.
