  1. Not the most dramatic walk-off - but will take it.
  2. Let's just hope the Twins don't have to deal with anything that happened in the later years of the series.... I suspect it was not following the books by the point of burning blind schools.
  3. OK - when we are up to bat, I am OK with someone starting on second.
  4. Two runs with two outs - as expected.
  5. I think we have the airing of the grievances down.
  6. The Far Side, Bloom County, and Calvin and Hobbes might have created some procrastination study breaks in college. In retrospect, I might not have always wisely used my time.
  7. I am not pro-smoking, but some of those animals look kind of cool. That duck might be convincing me to start smoking.
  8. Did SNL ever do a Chevy as Ford - Squeaky Fromme sketch? I am guessing Buckwheat getting shot the same way Reagan did would not fly now.
  9. Especially since he was there and should remember what a big deal it was. Harder to judge things on the radio - but sounds like the officials are not handling this well.
  10. Didn't the person giving him the award call him Jason? 2014 - not a great year for the Twins in general, but fond memories of Perk closing out the Mpls All-Star game with Kurt as his catcher.
  11. Yes - am through episode 6 and feel like in a way they put her through the same motions/emotions/expressi....ons every season. It is odd that they did not do much with him after season 1, since his character really triggered much of the action at the show's start and from the scenes they do give him he seems like a good actor. I do have issues of how good Suzie's internet connection was in 1986...
  12. or in the case of Jonathan - now middle-aged. I agree that I do not think they really know what to do with him and Mike any longer. The cast has grown and they probably could cycle off some of the characters who have been played out. I have enjoyed the new season (I am through episode 4) and it might be the creepiest yet. Although I might be biased because I preferred Freddie to Jason as my favorite serial killer back in the day. As much as I liked Hopper, I think I might have jettisoned his story and just focused on what is going on in Hawkins. Back in season 1, I thought El was a great child actor, and she is not horrible now, but think the actress who plays Max might be the MVP so far and have a bit more subtly in some of her acting choices. I have not gotten to Obi Wan yet (or really about the last three Star Wars/Marvel series, but it is on my list. I think Loki might be the last thing I watched, which might mean it is time to evaluate keeping the service. Although I have been watching the original Muppet Show.
  13. First of all, mainly sad about the loss because it was a loss. But also, sad I cannot use the Muppet Chicken dinner picture I found. For some reason, I was confident we would get a walk-off run in the 9th, which is probably why we lost.
  14. I am dog-sitting where there is cable, so I can actually watch the game, so I should be happy to be able to watch extra innings, but really would have been ok with a walk-off home run there.
  15. And a very eclectic mix of 1970's guest stars. I finally saw the Muppet Christmas Carol a couple of years ago. While funny at times, it is pretty true to the story and.... Spoiler.... the Tiny Tim is dead scene with Miss Piggy and Kermit as the Cratchits is one of the more touching versions of that scene that I have seen.
  16. I knew Chief's jokes reminded me of a classic comedian. I was thinking Henny Youngman, but really, it is this guy.
  17. What a great night to be at Target Field. On a really petty, superficial note, I would not be sad if these uniforms were retired. The gold trim kind of gives them a cheap, flashy feel. The gift of by the second baseman was for naught.
  18. I saw a stat recently that when you add the seasons of the four teams up - Minnesota has watched around 120 seasons of sports since the last championship. We had this poster in my bedroom - it did not survive my brother's pain and angst after one of the losses.
  19. After the recent Wolves and Wild play-off series, I now fear any lead can be lost. Well, that and Minnesota sports history in general since the Vikings 1970's Superbowl streak...
  20. WCCO showed a picture of Allianz field flooding commenting how its drainage system was being overwhelmed.
  21. Nice song and good singer and performance, but I keep trying to figure out what that show this is. It is like they took a bunch of the Brady Bunch extras from the high school scenes, gave them valium and they are wondering why they cannot be at an Osmond's concert instead. Then at around 2 minutes there are strange puppet people that look like they escaped from HR Puffinstuf or Chuck E Cheese.
  22. Too be fair I believe they might have had papyrus by then, although I think it was expensive and hard to come by, I think you would only use it for a play-off game.
  23. Funny how this time of the season how much a week can make a difference in the feeling whether the world is ending. About a week ago each loss made people think it was going to be a 40-win season, where today there might be a little more perspective and less the sky is falling.
