  1. I don't think Granite will ever hit enough to be on an mlb roster, not even as a bench option.
  2. You must be a hoot at parties.
  3. At this point I'm happy with Greene, Gore, or Wright. In that order.
  4. He must have been tired!
  5. At this point, I think, it's fair to wonder if some part of the Twins development is causing the injuries.
  6. Well plenty of people are giving the catchers credit for the success of certain pitchers. If so, that has to cut both ways to have any credibility. Personally, I think a catchers influence - good or bad- is overblown, so I don't really give credit or blame to them. But I could be totally wrong.
  7. It would have been acceptable in this country up until about 25 years ago. For example, there is a very famous photo of a returning WW2 doughboy kissing a young girl in a parade. If you do a Google search for the photos preceding and succeeding that photo, you'll see that the girl was actually trying to reject his kiss. Very happy to see that this type of crap is no longer socially accepted.
  8. Jason Wheeler was DFA'd.
  9. It does seem pretty strict. But if it was in the rules, and known ahead of time, then I don't understand the problem.
  10. Sure, when a guy is ready for MLB but there isn't room in the rotation. We have room in the rotation. If Romero is ready, put him in the rotation, not the bullpen. The post I was responding to read (in fact said explicitly) to move him to the bullpen permanently. I can't get behind that.
  11. It's way too early to move Romero to the pen. His ceiling is front of the rotation starter, you don't bail on that potential until you are convinced that he won't make it as a starter. I don't even know where this opinion is coming from, actually. A few rough weeks transitioning to AA?
  12. Romero should be able to throw about 120 innings this year. It's way too early to start transitioning him to the pen now. If you moved him to the pen now, he'd likely come up short of last years 90 inning mark. Barring an injury, I don't think they'll shut him down at any point. My guess would be he keeps starting through July, which gets him to about 105 innings, then moves to the pen for his final 25 innings. Could even skip a start or two if needed.
  13. Is it legal in England to deport a natural born citizen?
  14. I'm a lot more concerned that the Twins get a really good player than how soon he can help the team. Obviously you'd love to have both, but I'd only like timeline to be a tie breaker.
  15. I don't think Rosario would fetch much in a trade. He might get you a Tommy Milone type (AAAA/fringe mlb) pitcher at best.
  16. I haven't looked today, but as of a couple days ago, the Twins were leading baseball in DRS. Of the last 10 teams to lead baseball in DRS, 9 of them won 90+ games - and the one that didn't won 85. Three of those teams also won the WS. This defense is legit, and defense is a legit formula for winning. I'm sold on this being an 85+ win team, which is shocking to me. I had them at 73 coming into the year.
  17. I think his value/ceiling is as a good 4th outfielder. And I think he'll be valuable as such, at least through his cheap years. Now the job is to find a replacement to start in LF. I'm hoping Wade can be in that mix next spring.
  18. I would be thrilled with an .800 OPS from Joe. I just don't see that happening though. This is 4 straight years in the .720 to .750 range. I think at this point we need to accept that is who he is now. My point being that one good month does noting to change my view of what he is now. This isn't the first time he's had a hot month the last few seasons.
  19. We've seen hot months here and there from Joe the last couple of years. I'm going to have to see this hold up for a few months before I think much of it.
  20. Fair. The FO shouldn't necessarily use only results in their evaluations. They have much more info than we'll ever have. We don't have the info that they have, so I think it's totally fair for fans to judge them based on their results - since that is all we have to go by.
  21. I agree with most of what you say, but still disagree with your conclusion. At the end of the day, we still judge results. It's what you do in sports. You could just as easily say there are too many factors in a baseball game to simply add up the runs and declare a winner. Yet that is exactly what we do. Front offices must think that some talent evaluators are better than others. If they didn't, it'd be a minimum wage job.
  22. So if some gain velocity, some lose, and some stay the same, then again, why do you think he'll lose velocity? Wright sits 93-95 now, I think. (Mid-90's) Did he also hit 100+ frequently in HS? Since he now throws where you expect Greene to in a couple years?
  23. He said "maybe", which clearly frames it as opinion. We really can't state an opinion now on a fan message board without objective proof?
  24. I was all in on Greene a couple months ago, but I'm coming around to Wright in a big way. Right now I'd be thrilled with either. I don't want McKay at all.
  25. Well he sits 98-99 now, I think. And don't 17 year olds typically add a tick or two to their fastball as they mature?
