  1. Yeah, I guess now the only question is which Twin gets thrown at in retaliation for "showing up" the opposing pitcher? My guess is Sano.
  2. I'm not taking anyone's word for anything. I never claimed they did or did not do anything. I was having a little fun with a silly pointless conspiracy theory.
  3. Well if the books were cooked, then the record would say he was 6-7, even if he were say 6-9 or 6-10. That is kind of what cooking the books means. I could care less, I'm just pointing out that I doubt you personally measured him.
  4. I wouldn't be surprised if the call up is a position player, for a day or two, considering Buxton might be day to day and Sano will likely have to miss a game.
  5. I'd say you need to re prioritize sports if it causes you to give strangers the bird - no matter how much they deserve it.
  6. So being as the statline doesn't matter in Berrios' case, I wonder if there will be consistency on that stance if he has a few rough outings in a row at AAA. I have a feeling that some of those saying the statline doesn't matter now, might then say something like this shows that maybe he wasn't ready after all.
  7. This FO doesn't have any development time invested in Gibson. They just got here.
  8. So what if he continues to dominate the stat sheet in AAA but never improves his fastball command beyond what it is now? Are you honestly going to just let him finish out his tenure in the minors and never going to give him another shot? What if 35 starts become 150 starts with dominant stats? I realize that's unlikely, but I'm just wondering if there does indeed come a point at which you'd call him you even if the fastball command doesn't improve but he continues to crush AAA? At some point I think you say that asking for perfection at AAA is being too conservative. At some point I think you say he's a highly regarded prospects who has dominated AAA, let's go ahead and let him learn the rest from the MLB coaches and catchers.
  9. He also hinted on kfan this morning that he gets the sense from the FO that Berrios will not be coming up any time soon.
  10. Cleveland's record puts them on pace for 95-67. Is that really mediocre?
  11. The concrete at TF is likely still curing. If the Hoover Dam had not been outfitted with 600 miles of refridgerated cooling tubing, it would have taken 125 years to fully cure. Even with the cooling tubes it still took 35 years.
  12. You won't get any arguments from me on that. I am a huge opponent of having military bases in foreign countries. I mean, we are still in Germany! Geez, are we really still legitimately concerned about stability there? We are like that leeching relative we all have, once you let us in we never leave. And that goes double if the country isn't sure they even want us there any more.
  13. Well if that's the case then a buyout seems like a no brainer to me. Of course, it's not my money though.
  14. Oh he addressed that. He literally went through each early exit giving reasons why it wasn't our fault that we lost. Very bizarre.
  15. And baseball is also the only sport that retaliates against someone celebrating putting points on the scoreboard. Baseball players are so sensitive it's crazy. Nobody gets offended in hockey when guys celebrate after a goal. Nobody gets offended in football when a touchdown is celebrated. You know what you do if you are offended by the other team celebrating a home run? Don't give up a home run. That is the attitude in every other sport. Only baseball players have this unhealthy level of thin skin over celebrations. Which, by the way is hypocritical, because the same pitcher throwing at guys for pimping a home run is more than happy to fist pump when they get a key strike out.
  16. All fair points, although I'd bet that even China and Russia aren't giddy over the prospects of this nut developing an intercontinental ballistic missile.
  17. If I recall correctly, we can't buy out anyone this year because you can't use a buyout in consecutive years. We bought out Vanek last year.
  18. The Blackhawks GM called their first round exit embarrassing and unacceptable. Ours couldn't stop gushing over what a great season we had, and seemed downright baffled at suggestions that there was any kind of failure. Fletcher's presser was very bizarre, IMO. Maybe I just can't see the forest through the trees, and this season will prove to be a stepping stone to multiple titles, we'll see. I have my doubts, but we'll see.
  19. I believe it said they are tracking their "approach", not necessarily their results. I think if you had the right contacts, you could get a feel for the approach a FO has towards developing pitching, even without a long track record. Or, maybe not. I don't know.
  20. Well certainly there are no good options. But, even a full scale invasion would almost certainly be a better option than upwards of 100k US civilian casualties. So then you have to weigh how likely it is that they eventually figure out how to develop an intercontinental missile. My uneducated guess would be it's near 100% that they figure it out someday. It's a lose/lose situation for sure. I don't envy those tasked with figuring it how. Talk about high stakes.
  21. The question is are you willing to take such a potentially catastrophic risk? Because if you ignore NK under the assumption that they'll never figure it out, and they do...a nuclear warhead hitting a major us city is going to make 9/11 look like child's play. I'm not saying that plan can't work. It might even be very likely to work, but boy that is a huge risk.
  22. Also the Wild is going to have some pretty good young players exposed. It would make more sense for Vegas to find their overpaid cap space fillers from organizations that don't have to expose any good players.
  23. OK maybe routine is the wrong word. But it happens fairly often. And to a segment it's considered the correct way to police the game.
  24. Are you saying that Haleys foul (HBP) was not accidental, or that the retaliation wasn't planned? If it wasn't planned, then why are people saying that Sano should have expected it?
