  1. He still had a motivation to decide not to call the team trainers and say is this safe to take? He still had a motivation to decide not to go to the team trainers for a weight loss plan once he arrived in Spring Training. Again, these are things he knows. So, he made a conscious decision to not consult team trainers. He had some motivation for making that decision. It may not matter to you, that's fine, to some of us it does. I'm tired of all these players claiming it was some innocent mistake, or they didn't know what they were taking, or whatever. Just be a man and step up and admit your mistake. I would respect that. The excuses I can't respect.
  2. If Pineda wants the benefit of the doubt that the arbitrators found evidence that he wasn't masking, rather than reducing the suspension based on a procedural technicality, then he can release the transcripts of the appeal hearing. If he doesn't want to do that, fine that's his right, but that means he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt from me. Until he does, a procedural technicality is equally as likely as evidence that he wasn't masking to me. I mean, explain to me how you prove a negative (I didn't take PED's) in the first place? You can't, it's not possible. You can fail to prove he did, but it's impossible to prove he didn't.
  3. But what is his motive for not going to the team trainers if he legitimately just wanted to lose weight? That's what I can't get past. And it's not just "stupidity". He knows the team has professional trainers. He knows the trainers can clear any supplements. Those are two things he knows. He doesn't need any intelligence to know those two things. So, knowing those two things, what is his motivation for going to a "buddy" rather than the team trainers?
  4. I don't think stupidity alone can explain why he would take something that can only be attained by prescription, illegally, or from a foreign country, without running it by the trainers. These players are explicitly told that they can run anything by the training staff to find out if it's ok to take. Again, I think it's very important to restate that they are explicitly told this. It's not some implicit procedure that the team just hopes the players are smart enough to figure out, they are told. Stupidity alone doesn't explain why he wouldn't run this past the training staff if he was, in his mind, taking it for legitimate purposes. IMO, he doesn't run it past the training staff because he either already knows, or doesn't want to know, that it's banned.
  5. Sean Poppen is eligible to come off the 60 day IL on 9/30.
  6. Congratulations. Keeping a happy marriage takes a lot of work from both sides, it doesn't come easy or naturally. That said, it works if both are committed to putting in the work. My wife and I have been together 20 years, and I'll tell you that there is nothing better than having a partner you can trust and count on. I can't imagine trying to make it through this crazy world without that support. Good luck to you and your spouse!
  7. He can play in the postseason. He was in the organization before 9/1. The league petition is a rubber stamp process, so long as you have an eligible injured player to replace, which the Twins do.
  8. Unless they release the evidence that was presented, which they won't, we don't know why his suspension was reduced. For all we know it could have been because of a technicality in the process. It just doesn't make any logical sense to take this substance for any other reason than to mask something else. If Pineda legitimately wants to try to lose weight, he goes to the team trainers. He doesn't go get something that's not even available OTC in America from a "buddy", and then doesn't even have the team trainers check out what he's taking. It's not like this policy is brand new and you can say perhaps he just forgot that everything needs to be checked for compliance. This just isn't by any stretch of the imagination a legitimate way for a professional athlete to try to lose weight in 2019, sorry, not buying it.
  9. They both got into the game today. They aren't going to carry someone who will literally not play once.
  10. Of course he's here to play. Depth for what? AAA season is over. MLB teams don't carry "depth" players that literally never play, like NBA teams do.
  11. I don't believe I've seen any posters say that they don't want him back on moral grounds. I have seen some posters who seem to suggest they don't want him back because he torpedoed his teammates shot at winning a world series title. Which wasn't the case when Polanco got popped.
  12. Hate and vitriol? What are you referencing? There certainly isn't any of that in this article or thread, so if you're referencing a different thread, I'd like to know which one.
  13. I believe Weil actually has two more seasons after this one before he would become a minor league FA.
  14. I mean, any team can sweep any other team, because baseball. But come on, it's pretty unlikely the Twins are getting swept. The Twins are the better team, and they are an elite road team. I see no reason not to expect to win 2 of 3.
  15. Yep. The minor league coverage at Twins Daily is by far the best in this market. Thanks for all your hard work and keep up the great work guys.
  16. Littell is already eligible for the postseason roster, as he's on the 40 man roster.
  17. Astudillo was frequently in the dugout during games while he was on the IL this season. I don't believe there is any rule regarding who can or can't be in a team's dugout.
  18. Weren't Blake Parker and Addison Reed their pick ups? What evidence do you have to suggest they have a hard time parting with their pick ups?
  19. When I said it didn't matter what was driving his babip, i meant as it related to the fact that it will regress. You're right that skill can contribute to a higher than average babip, but nobody (except Ty Cobb) has enough skill to maintain his current babip. Regardless of what's driving it, it's going to regress. How much of it is skill will determine if it regresses to .330 or .300, but either way it will regress.
  20. It doesn't have to be luck to be unsustainable. Regardless of what is driving his high babip, he's not Ty Cobb, it's going to regress.
  21. Graterol does need to be added to the 40 man this offseason. He signed in 2015.
