  1. Two trips through the order is 70+ pitches. Zero chance Berrios throws 70 pitches, then starts again on 2 days rest.
  2. Odorizzi has never once started on short rest, in his entire career. I really doubt this staff will try it for the first time now. Could be available for a couple innings out of the bullpen though.
  3. If they want to develop Bradbury, fine, but then it's time to rebuild. If they want to win now, they simply can't keep putting him out there.
  4. Per Matthew Coller: By PFF’s grading system, rookie Garrett Bradbury scored the second lowest grade of any Viking with a 32.4 (out of 100). Only backup guard Dakota Dozier was lower. Pat Elflein had the highest score on the OL at 62.1 but still gave up one hurry and one sack. Through four games, Bradbury is far and away the worst center in the NFL by PFF’s standards with a 32.5 overall grade, 10.0 blocking grade and 45.5 pass blocking mark. To put that in context, Elflein struggled mightily in 2018 but managed an overall grade nearly 10 points higher. As a rookie, the former Ohio State standout had a 66.1 overall score.
  5. I doubt we'll see this coaching staff start anyone on short rest.
  6. You can watch it. It's on MLB Network, which people can get for FREE with a trial of YouTube TV. Not only is the game available, it's free. Somehow that still isn't good enough though. I honestly don't understand what the problem is here. It seems like people are just looking for any reason to criticize.
  7. Gardy had 2 MVP's, the best starting pitcher in baseball, the best closer in Twins history, plus Torii Hunter and Brad Radke... and still managed to get swept by the A's. This team has made the most of it's ability, but from a pure talent aspect, that 2006 team had way more talent.
  8. What is the basis of the criticism?
  9. Ben Goessling's film review seems to support the idea that guys were open, and Cousins just failed to get them the ball. http://va.topbuzz.com/s/Fkrcxk
  10. I'm pretty sure the recovery for Dyson's surgery is 12-14 months, so he won't pitch next year. Why would Romo coming back surprise you?
  11. Schoop was going to start against lefties anyways, even if Arraez didn't get hurt (IMO), so you're still replacing Arraez off the bench with Astudillo off the bench.
  12. Yeah that'd be awful if Lewis only gets 72 bWAR.
  13. I also don't have FS1. While I'm sad that I might not be able to watch it, not having cable or dish is my choice. It seems silly to get upset at MLB because I chose to cut the cord. Why would anyone pay for broadcast rights, if MLB is also broadcasting it free somewhere for everyone? MLB isn't a non profit.
  14. I'm not saying give up on Bradbury, but maybe let him learn in practice instead of games for now. This team has to win games now. Bradbury is a massive liability right now.
  15. I mean, they so rarely show the all 22 replay during the game broadcast, that it's impossible for us to know, unless we're going back and watching the all 22. Every player is going to see the film, so it'd be foolish for Thielen to call out Cousins for not getting him the ball when he's open, if he wasn't actually open.
  16. Looks like they're already turning on him: "At some point, you’re not going to be able to run the ball for 180 yards, even with the best running back in the NFL. That’s when you have to be able to throw the ball. You have to be able to hit the deep balls,” Thielen said, per Chad Graff. Thielen was then asked if he found it difficult to get open against the Bears’ defense. He didn’t hesitate to respond. “I didn’t feel that,” he said. AKA, he was open, and his quarterback couldn’t (or wouldn’t) make the throw.
  17. Sure, but it wasn't garbage time. It was a one score game with 4 minutes to play.
  18. I mean, there is plenty of blame to go around. Spielman for continuing to fail to upgrade the offensive line. Bradbury is awful, a complete mess and liability. They can't keep putting him out there. The offensive duo of Kubiak and Stefanski, completely vanilla and predictable. Zimmer is always being outcoached. That timeout that gave Chicago 3 points is unacceptable from even a rookie head coach. Playing everyone in soft coverage on 4th and 3 was bizarre. Cousins is just awful in so many ways. He can't hold on to the football, doesn't go through his progressions, and his deep ball is brutally inaccurate. There were guys open yesterday. The Bears coverage wasn't near as good as Cousins made it look. The defense is good for one or two dumb penalties every game. Harris negating a turnover by holding a receiver that was on the opposite side of the field as Trubisky was running can't happen. And Griffen is offsides at least once every game. This team has a lot of problems.
  19. I'm not absolving Zimmer of anything. You won't find a bigger proponent of firing Zimmer than me. Regarding Cousins, there is a pretty big difference between a winning record, and 5-27. How many "franchise" QB's have sub .200 winning percentages against winning teams? I didn't expect him to be great, but I also didn't think he'd be this bad. He's Ponder-esque against good teams. There is no way that locker room doesn't turn on Cousins, if they haven't already. This team has a lot of good players, and they have to be looking at Cousins thinking, "how is this guy making 2 or 3 times what I'm making?"
  20. Cousins is now 5-27 in his career against teams with winning records. This team has no shot until they move on from him.
  21. Zimmer should have been fired a long time ago. But, failing that, yes, you are correct.
  22. A team with the young talent we have should be able to rebuild quickly. Zimmer and Spielman are gone after we go 7-9. They can eat the last year of Cousins contract.
  23. Few years?
  24. Diggs forward progress was stopped.
  25. What an awful play call on the 2pt attempt.
