It still seems bizarre to me that they didn't bring up more young players toward the end of the season to at least give them a look. There was nothing to lose. The organization seems absolutely rudderless.

It's easy to say "fire Rocco" - but who is the promising prospective manager who is next in line? It's better to be running toward something better than just running away from a disaster. IMO the managers are often the convenient scapegoat, and the real issue is the weak performing roster of players they're handed by the GM. As Tom Kelly said "Kirby Puckett made me a smarter manager". That being said, Falvey and Baldelli seem to be an inseparable package, so they both probably need to go.

They went from worst to World Champions in 1991, so I guess anything is possible. But my expectations are down to the point that I'm not thinking they will contend. All I ask for 2026 is that when I go to the ballpark I'll see the home team play with some spark and at a Major League level. Best that can be hoped for.

Baldelli has shown some flexibility to his game approach in the second half of the year, which I didn't think he had the capacity to do. He's given the green light to the speed game, which I'm a big fan of. But he drives me nuts with his alphabet soup line-ups and trying to force too many players into utility roles, among other things. Maybe that'll change too if he can get stronger players to work with.

Twins 7, Yankees 0: Signature Simeon Woods Richardson
Nshore replied to Nate Palmer's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
That might have been the Twins' best game all season. They seemed totally locked in and playing hard. I have no idea where that came from. Maybe they see it as their play-off series. Woods-Richardson was an absolute beast.- 29 replies

The Twins hitters must lead the league in watching pitches go by in wide eyed wonder for strikes - right down the middle of the plate. There must be a stat - there is for everything else.

Matt Wallner or Travor Larnach?
Nshore replied to Alex Boxwell's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
With their various weaknesses, Wallner and Larnach are both very mediocre to poor baseball players. Wallner should be fighting for his job, and he had to be woken up from a nap and was picked off 2B yesterday. The Twins should jettison them for whatever they can get and bring up some new guys. -

Terry Ryan was fired for what Pohlad called "total system failure". I really don't see how this current operation is any different. I'm not buying the "highly rated farm system" hype. They've come full circle. Except as an added "bonus", this time they've managed to almost completely alienate the fan base in the process. Hard to see why any of them would register a heartbeat on a fan poll.

For the most part, Falvey only wants to draft and accumulate barely competent left handed hitting outfielders, and shortstops. Causes some problems.

I think they'd rather do something like take the "Bark at the Park" night idea and run with it. Turn the whole stadium into a pricey dog park between home stands. Fans and players will have to be very careful where they step.

Plus Martin is smaller than Wallner and doesn't cost as much to feed. The Pohlads like that.- 44 replies

Angels 12, Twins 2: Oy vey...
Nshore replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Many commenters seem to dislike Martin, but love Wallner. I would bet my next mortgage payment that Wallner falls below the Mendoza Line by the end of the season, while Martin is currently hitting over .300. It's baseball player analysis distortion run wild!- 44 replies

The Pohlads desperately need someone to step forward to be the spokesperson and articulate to the fans (and players apparently) what the heck it is that's going on. It can't be Joe Pohlad because he's probably not capable, and it's probably not "corporate word salad speak" Falvey. Without clear communication, players and fans are going to run amok and think the worst.

What the Heck Happened to José Miranda?
Nshore replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Regardless of what happened to Miranda, he's not performing. And if he's slamming helmets and such when he makes outs, tantrums are pretty toxic for a team, and he needs to be shown the door. -
