Twins (Ryan) vs White Sox (Burke): 5/26/26, 6:40 pm CDT
Nshore replied to C-Gangster's topic in Archived Game Threads
I don't like, nor will I ever like, Andrew Benintendi - can't explain it, but there I said it. I'm sure he's heartbroken over the matter. I hope he strikes out many, many times. -
Royce Lewis Needs to Have an Open Mind
Nshore replied to Tom Froemming's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
I think Royce would be well advised to do everything he can to make it work with the Twins rather than jump to another org. He's been treated very well here. I was at the game recently where he had a particularly horrific error, failed to turn a routine double play, and allowed a run to score. I don't think I heard a single "boo" from the fans. If he was playing for the Yankees for example, they would have booed him right out of the stadium. The fans here want to get behind him again - and hopefully it happens this summer. -
Royce Lewis Needs to Have an Open Mind

As far as Lewis playing 1B, with his leg history I don't think I want him making those stretches for throws over there. It won't be pretty. -
Royce Lewis Needs to Have an Open Mind

I know we're not supposed to talk about Royce Lewis here, but I'm going to do it anyway. If the guy gets going, it could transform the season. How can a guy go from missing meatball fastballs (and everything else) in the Twins lineup to immediately hitting bombs for the Saints? I don't get it.

That was a heckuva slide by Larnach - one of the best I've seen in a while. Maybe he should teach Contreras how to slide into home.

Taylor Rogers seems to have righted the ship - and just in time. He's had some veteran, cold blooded performances lately.

The obvious assumption about Jeffers is that he and Boras want the most money they can find. But I would think playing in New York for example is not easy - some players wilt under that kind of stress and spotlight. How many millions do you need? I think there's still a chance that he stays.

I'm not sure Keaschall is really progressing with his fielding at second base, which is concerning. Not sure what they would do with him if he doesn't play there - he's not really an outfielder either. Best case scenario is he ends up being a Jose Altuve type player - and they avert their eyes when the ball is hit his way.

If a Twins player can play, they can look like "Cousin It" on the Adams Family for all I care.

What Does Royce Lewis Need to Improve at Triple-A?
Nshore replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I'm about 5% optimistic - he finds it, comes back and miraculously leads the Twins to the playoffs. The other 95% says he forces a trade, and this time next year he's telling everyone what a terrible organization the Twins have. -
I wouldn't be surprised if every position in the Twins' infield has different personnel by the end of the year - or certainly by next year. I don't think too many teams can say that very often. If Kreidler was looking for opportunity, he couldn't have found a better place. If Clemons can carve out a role for himself, so can Kreidler.

2026 will be 35 years since the Twins have been anywhere near a World Series. The negative sign would be if fans WEREN'T fed up with that.

Sometimes I project attitudes and behaviors onto these players without having the first clue or really knowing them at all. Continuing along those lines - Lewis seems to me a pretty stubborn, maybe even arrogant and immature guy that doesn't react to instruction very well. An example would be the time he was on one of his many rehab assignments and they apparently told him not to try to steal bases to protect his legs - so immediately that was the first thing he did. Some tough love - sending him down and maybe even getting in his face a little bit might break through it all. There's still a slight chance that Lewis might be THE ANSWER. Those grandslams Lewis had early in his career might be the worst thing that happened to him. I get that the power stroke is where the contract money is. But at this point they should go full "Tom Kelly" on him. If he overswings they should make him take a lap or eat a grasshopper or something. Just meet the ball.

It's a shame because the Twins have lost multiple close winnable games. If Lewis or Wallner had shown even the slightest bit of baseball competence the picture would look much better.

I think Rojas could be huge. I hated him at first because I'm a huge fan of Varland. But he's only 23 and already looks more poised and comfortable. I could see him striking out Aaron Judge to win the playoff series. Turn him loose!

I hope somehow, someway they hang on to Ryan. Twins fans would be roaring for that guy in high stakes games. If you want to build attendance, he's part of the foundation.

You're right - I think it was Jerry Lewis, or maybe Joe E. Lewis. Whatever- they need to get to the bottom of whatever is seriously wrong with them.

I remember the Twins had a short lived catcher named Dave Engel who had the yips about throwing the ball back to the pitcher. He had slow lollipop throws that I think base runners would even steal on. If Jackson can throw and catch normally, and breathe in and out - he will be a fine back-up.

Astros 2, Twins 1: No Offense, No Victory for Twins

This almost exact article could have been written about Royce Lewis before he was first called up. The Twins have to find out why these guys are going from raking in AAA to completely helpless in the Major Leagues. If it means more time at AAA, so be it. But it seems like there's more to it than that.

Regarding Jeffers, I thought hamate bone injuries usually resulted in their removal and were season ending. Hope not. Kirilloff's wrist put the final nail in the coffin of his career.
