    I can't believe they haven't called Lackey up yet! - Wanted to be the first one to say it.

    I was surprised they didn't give Bowman a shot to begin the season - they were desperate for competent arms and Bowman was throwing pretty well. They must not have any confidence in his stuff at the ML level at all.

    It's all dependent upon what kind of deal they can get for Jeffers. If it's the kind of deal Don Rickles came up with for the Nazi tank commander in "Kelly's Heroes", then by all means go for it!

    Ober, Rojas, and Go get recalibrated for future success. And Cleveland had to throw the best of everything they have at the Twins to beat them. It's a win.

    When they picked up the Clemens kid I thought "Now they're really scraping rock bottom". But he can really play obviously and is not intimidated by anyone out there. Guys like Clemens and Kreidler are critical to a team's success.

    I watch most of the broadcasts with the sound muted. It's interesting how it has evolved now to a need to fill every second with conversation. I much prefer the understated Herb Carneal days.

    Entertaining game, team on the rise, good young starting pitcher going, critical division series - and a whole lot of empty seats.

    Include Rodin, lawyers, guns, money, other players, in a blockbuster, surprising, and astonishing trade with the Red Sox to bring back Sonny Gray!

    The name mockery in the article is more than a little "junior high". The Twins need to look at all options - as soon as possible. The blown games by the bullpen will haunt them. As another commenter said, it's seems strange the Tigers would let him go. It isn't a high bar to bump one of the pitchers from the bullpen - hopefully he gets it done.

    Tom Pohlad better be careful what he says. His statements get repeated hundreds of times for months afterward. Reminds me of my ex. Going full sell mode as some want would further damage their reputation with the fans after the team is finally giving them some HOPE. As with most things, the middle ground is probably best - sell a little, buy a little.

    Buxton's hip needs a nice rest. Is it Jenkins time yet? Still too soon? Even if he promises not to run into a wall? Free Walker Jenkins!

    BUY! BUY! BUY! Ryan with his antics is turning into Mark "The Bird" Fydrich.

    I sympathize with Zoll. Tough decisions. When the Twins are this close to a Wild Card, if you're competitive at all - and want to win back the fans, it must be tough not to go all in. There's a world in which the help they get is from what they already have - hang on to Ryan, Ober or by some miracle Abel comes back strong, and Paredes and Rojas strengthen the bullpen. It'd be fun to throw Jenkins into an already high run producing line-up too. It'll be a very interesting second half.

    A look at the buzzsaw schedule coming up and.....they're going to need a bigger bullpen. It's probably too late to fix. They could be 10 games under pretty soon and in clear "sell" territory. Everybody - fans, writers, baristas, Uber drivers, fans' pets knew this was an issue from before day 1 of the season, and they haven't done enough to address it.

    I guess I don't look at the short term priorities for this team and say "I wish the left fielder could catch the ball better." That's a concern for another season.

    Leave Larnach alone and go get some relief pitching.

    Where there's smoke there's fire. If they add instead of subtract, they might consistently catch fire. The most encouraging thing IMO is Mr. Lewis. His improvement lengthens the line-up. Give them one or two more bullpen guys, and bring up some phenoms, and the fans can have some fun down the stretch.

    Calvin Griffith forgot more about baseball than any Pohlad will ever know, and ultimately he couldn't make a go of it here. It's concerning. In a losing year, die hard fans will still come out to see the star players from other teams and because they enjoy the game. But most fans here need a winner. Maybe a new baseball agreement will change the economics and help the cause.

    Just from a crazy fans' viewpoint (such as myself) I would love to see the PHENOM Jenkins in RF next to Buxton down the stretch. Might bring more fans out to the ballpark too. Now if Jenkins comes up and goes 0 for 30 - not such a good idea. But there's one way to find out. But I realize there are very sound baseball reasons not to do it and Roden would probably be the first choice.

    Usually I would agree with this. But Lewis said he thought the first basemens mit looks strange. The Twins aren't dealing with a "normal" type of baseball player with this guy.

    I'd like to be optimistic about Lewis. But from his comments, I really don't think he gets it. He thinks everything is "fixed". It feels increasingly like the Twins are trying to pound a square peg into a round hole. Maybe best case is that they make him look as good as possible in AAA and trade him.

    You pay $70 dollars for a ticket to see the team basically phone it in. With the brutal economy among other things, then they wonder why attendance isn't better. And it isn't just the Twins. Greed is strangling the game. Go watch the Saints.
