  1. Detroit has been amazing--best record in all of MLB with the 17th highest payroll! I wish I hadn't purchased the full MLB package because I'm so sick of watching them win.
  2. Indy, I think that's a couple of losses overdue. Man, Zebby needs some serious "seasoning" in St. Paul.
  3. Such lethargy...maybe it's heat induced-eh? The Twins are sending out a very weak lineup these days. They could have used Bader both at bat and in the field in Tampa--I hope that his sore finger feels better by Friday.
  4. Nice win and I'm happy to see Jax back to form--he was awesome. Okay, I'm an aging member of the rub dirt on your cut generation who is a bit flummoxed by Bader missing two games because of a "sore ring finger"--did I get that right? It's not broken, or stress fractured, or even sprained (involving the stretching or rupturing ligaments), but sore-yes? I hope that Bader is able to play tomorrow because his presence is badly needed in the Twin's less-than-impressive lineup.
  5. Yes, we could have won this one, (must move the Manfred runner to third immediately, whatever it takes!) but goodness, what a wonderful, classic pitchers' duel it was. Ober stood tall (!) and Bubic was a magician...despite the loss, it was a great show. Hard to say it and hate to say it, but it might be time to reevaluate Lewis back in St, Paul. I agree that he is looking lost in the box these days. Sadly, I'd rather see Bride or Castro at bat in a clutch situation right now than Lewis. Please prove me wrong on the road trip and I'll gladly eat crow. If he continues his horrific slump throughout the road trip, I'd say it's time for a trip to St. Paul.
  6. Wow....back from 4-0 in the 5th is exceptional, netting a full 10 of 10 team-of-destiny points. The Twins could easily have lost the last two but found a way to come out on top...maybe some of the magic will find its way to the nearby Wolves?
  7. France, Royals, the guillotine: 1793, but it's still too soon, ouch!! A great win that deserves an 8 out of 10 on the "team-of-destiny" scale. I'm still hopeful that Lewis can find his stride and even approach superstardom over time--regarding Lee, I'm not so sure. And, don't look now, but the Twins (April's hitless wonders) are just 3 games back in the loss column of the Division lead. Go Wolves...please.
  8. It's hard to go against the formidable Riverbrian, with whom I nearly always agree, but I just don't see the Emperor's clothes on McCusker. Give him maybe 25 at bats, sure...but I have a feeling that at 25 or 125 at bats he'll end up performing like the 2023 version of Joey Gallo. And I seem to recall him looking less than agile while patrolling right field a few games ago. By the way, it appears that birthday wishes are in order as Carson turned 27 just today!
  9. Very flat in game #2...sad to see. But...big weekend coming up with the Twins v. KC and Cleveland v, Detroit; something's gotta give. Upper 60s and lots of sun coming too. Win Twins!
  10. Devil magic...that pretty much sums it up. I can imagine Ramirez holding some dark, pregame ceremonies with incantations. I cringe every time I see him and that awful intensity on his face. Ramirez is, in a word, numinous. We won't have to deal with him until August now, and I pray that they trade him to San Diego before the deadline!
  11. Amazing h-t-h stats! That's certainly how it has felt of late, glad to know I havent been hallucinating. These devils just refuse to die in the late innings. Detroit seems to have that mojo this year as well. 18-3 in one-run games is astounding. But, nice to turn the tables today!
  12. Minder, some, maybe you, seem to believe that Rose was given a lifetime ban meaning, to some, maybe you, that once Rose's life was over the ban was also over. Ash has clearly indicated that "lifetime" bans are not provided in MLB's rules of conduct--rather "permanent ineligibility" is the term of choice. The state of permanence, unlike life itself, remains unchanged indefinitely.
  13. Tired of watching the Tigers win...anything close after 7 and my money is on them! Sad, but true...
  14. I've always hated Buck's voice--like a twangy, sideshow barker at a county fair somewhere.
  15. An amazing trick that top baseball officials don't want you to know!
  16. A little scrambled egg motif starting high on the shoulders and grade AA egg shaped buttons...how about that?
  17. Triskaidekaphobia...gotta get over that #13 hump and keep on rolling to #20 to have a chance to catch the terrific Tigers in the short term. In exile in Milwaukee for many years now, I'm aware that my friends and collegues here are mad to end the Twins' winning streak. I think that some of them would accept a .400 season for The Crew, if only they could rain on the Twins' parade either tonight or on Sunday. They are pretty nice folks in general and intense, and long-suffering baseball fans...but the schadenfreude in this state is served not only in the beer, but in the drinkimg water as well! Win Twins!!
  18. Most true heroes these day fly under the radar, I think. People who "walk on through the wind" and rain. People who do what needs to be done and never ask for thanks and never wonder why.
